Is this headphone special in any way? Trying to understand why it's priced so high compared to other headsets
You could easily Google a review. $95 is priced quite low for a wireless gaming headset. It's special because it can connect to the Xbox wireless protocol and bluetooth. These are not audiophile headphones, so a site like Rtings that is strictly judging the audio quality and doesn't care about the low price gave it a 6.4, causing some people to frantically scream "Terrible sound, garbage headphones." anytime it is discussed. Every other review is 8/10 or 9/10.
Also available at Target with the 10% off coupon for Red Card members. Just popped up at Best Buy and Walmart as well, so it seems like the stock issues are over.
I love these headphones! 9 out of 10 for me personally. Super conveinent as they are wirless and connect just like the controllers to my xbox. Fantastic sound for the price tag! Im not an audio connoisseur so im super happy with them. If i were wanting better sound id shell out more money.
Couple of things: mine have connection issues and randomly drop sound, the battery life leaves a lot to be desired, the stock sound quality is HORRIBLE and requires being EQ'd immediately, and the EQ is easy to work with and post-EQ sound quality is fine for gaming.
If I didn't have connection issues with them, would I recommend? Maybe. $100 isn't a lot of money and the sound quality eventually gets better. I would rather they spend 50-100% more and made it a premium headset that fixed all of these issues.
They were pretty hard to get around my area due to scalpers buying and trying to resell them just like the Xbox series x and s. Now it seems they are more easily available. I like the way they sound after tuning the settings of the eq. Haven't had any issues so far. I like that i am able to connect them to my phone and xbox series x at the same time. For $100 they offer a lot that others in this price don't. They also offer a six month trial if Dolby Atmos for those interested.

These leave a lot to be desired.
What would be the <$150 range that would provide a lot better sound quality?
Serious question, I'm in the market. Would be using almost exclusively at home at night to watch movies, so NC means nothing to me. Thoughts?

For the price this does seem surprisingly nice.
