Is this one of those, "If you have to ask what it is, you don't need it." things?

Not really, anyone can have fun messing around with a synthesizer. Maybe you'll even really enjoy it and it will become a hobby!

Robert Moog is probably roland in his grave right now. Wink

Actually he'd probably be thrilled to see how far the tech has come.

Les Paul is to the electric guitar as Robert Moog is to the synthesizer is likely not accurate but how I would describe to someone not familiar if just talking about stature.

I'd have to research this stuff I use windows/pt/fl studio. I'm guessing it's good for some sort of iPad/iPhone studio?

These are iPad versions of professional musician and pro audio synthesizers. These are fun to play with if you want to make sounds, create music or learn about sound synthesis.

We're synth people. We used to live near the Moog factory in Asheville, fun place to try the stuff.

That makes sense why the Animoog app won't let me download, and it says my device isn't compatible (old iPhone).

Animoog for iPhone is free too:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ani...d490169960

edit: to the post above mine, it's because the other version is iPad only. not sure why they're separate apps.

As someone who has paid full price for these apps upon release over the years, I HIGHLY recommend them even if you just have a passing interest in music.

Especially Animoog etc, heck, it's great for kids etc as easier then some of the others....

Grade A stuff, I can't believe they are giving these away.

I'm not sure about the filter, but all three synths seem to.
