I wish these sets would stop including any 12pt sockets because those easily round off rusty/siezed/weak bolts due to their inherently flawed design since they only grip at the tips of each point rather than the entire flat surface of all 6 faces. The main reason 12pt sockets were invented was because the old ratcheting mechanisms used to only engage every 60 degrees or even every 90 degrees, so when you're trying to tighten/loosen a bolt in a tight space where you can only swing the handle 30 degrees then you'd have to use a 12pt socket to allow you to make the ratchet work. Now all ratchets engage every 5 degrees or less so there is literally no need for 12pt sockets anymore!
I have this set and it has been great. The only thing really missing are longer ratchet extension adapters.
It is hard to beat considering the price/ lifetime warranty.

I will test the lifetime warranty today since I broke a ratchet.
Too many screw driver bits and hex fillers on this one. I'll wait for the 192 Dewalt set.

Thanks for confirming that I made the right decision to wait for the Dewalt set.
So I guess you value hex sockets and more extensions over screwdriver, combination wrenches and solid warranty/exchange program. Maybe DeWalt thinks all the DeWalt mechanic tool set buyers use their popular DeWalt screwguns/drills/impact drivers to screw and unscrew. DeWalt could have definitely fit in a screwdriver in the set though. So weird. I never seen a mechanic tool set not have a screwdriver. I don't know which is better between the DeWalt or Husky sets as I don't have either but one better have a their screwdriver and a roll of combination wrenches if they are going to get it. I give the edge to the Husky set. I say this as a power tool DeWalt fan and a user of very little Husky tools.

I don't value screw driver bits and hex keys in mechanic tool sets. I have those as separate sets and you can get 'em cheap even for brand name ones when they go on sale. My bit and hex sets each come in their own pocket sized case so I don't lug around a big huge case when I need a bit or hex key. I'd gladly choose more sockets for less bits and hex keys in sets like these.

What are you talking about? You do realize that the DeWalt set comes with hex keys too. Both sets come with hex keys. DeWalt comes with 28 and Husky comes with 40 (20 short arm and 20 long arm). Everyone has screw drivers but the point is that every set should come with its own screw driver. A car uses screws too. I have never ever seen a mechanic tool set not come with a screw driver. First time in history! No comment about the "filler combination wrenches"? Who needs combination wrenches right? Combination wrenches are like filler screw bits nowadays?

Imagine needing to pull out the big wrench rolling pouch to do a simple car battery swap because the tool set provided ZERO combination wrenches. Inexcusable!... One can't use a ratchet there as one needs pass through.

Don't forget to add your DeWalt 8 piece metric combination wrench set on sale for $28.90! haha.... 8 PIECES!!! Robbery. Spend $60 if you want both metric and standard. DeWalt understand the importance of combination wrenches and they will make the customer pay for it dearly. What does a DeWalt combination roll pouch cost? $200! DeWalt doesn't even make the real larger size wrenches.

Yes I know...but tell me this...which set has more sockets. Dewalt 192 set or this set? Can't really make everyone happy. I value more sockets vs more bits and hex keys. You value the other. You have your needs and I have mine.. All good. You buy this one and I'll buy the Dewalt 192 set.

I guarantee you that the Husky sockets will do the same exact job as the DeWalt sockets. Don't get so caught up on number of sockets. Inexcusable not to have combination wrenches and a very basic cheap screwdriver. Nowadays with the price of wrenches for pretty much all name brands (not named Pittsburgh), you would think they are made out of gold as mechanic sets are so limited with wrenches and highly overpriced. Zero wrenches is inexcusable. Also DeWalt could have easily added 1 screw driver and measly 9 bits to fit in as there is lot of space between the hex sockets.... If one wants to just keep the $99 DeWalt mechanic set in their trunk for emergencies (no going back to the garage option), it can be a problem missing combination wrenches and a very basic screwdriver. Lot of people will automatically assume it can handle the basic tasks on the side of the road due to it being nearly 200 pieces but it may not. More likely need combination wrench or screwdriver over more socket accessories like adapters, additional extensions and the pivots on the side of the road. Lot of screws hold the plastic parts and lot of the push fasteners need screwdriver to pop out before you dig deeper. Screwdriver with plenty of bits is a good thing. 19 screwdriver bits in Husky is a respectable solid number.... The problem is when they get really excessive and just add tons to inflate the total piece number (50-96 bits... Comical!) like what the Sears Craftsman the past couple years. The old Sears USA Craftsman never shortened the customer with combination wrenches and NEVER EVER gave excessive bits to try to fool customers. I got a measly 9 screwdriver bits in my USA Craftsman tool set and 25 wrenches (huge sizes) in my 201 piece set (paid $85... around November deals). With the USA Craftsman 176 piece set (3 drawer), I got 16 combination wrenches and a measly 9 screwdriver bits. It is what it is now with the few combination wrenches in sets so we won't ever see those tool piece counts with wrenches soon. A nearly 200 piece mechanic set with zero combination wrenches is the first time in tool history I have ever seen that and no screw driver on top of that. The price of steel has gone up really high over the past 5 years so that explains the lack of wrenches in sets and the high price of wrenches but still. Stop getting shortened on combination wrenches or tricked with tiny little wrenches. Getting shortened on combination wrenches is almost as bad as getting ridiculously excessive bits.

* I am not buying any of these sets as I have a couple USA Craftsman sets and a Kobalt that I got on the dirt cheap clearance deal a couple years ago. I am sure I would like either Husky or DeWalt as they are solid quality for my use. I am a huge DeWalt power tool fan too as I even got the DeWalt screwgun, drill and impact driver so a DeWalt socket set would make sense to pair up with DeWalt socket set even though the Craftsman sockets work fine.

The benefits would be replacement, better case & the convenience of a physical store. I prefer the 6pt socket, too.

Isn't this 205-piece Dewalt set a better deal? Fewer pieces but 6-point sockets.

It will do the same job until I need the socket size that the Husky doesn't have but the Dewalt set has.

I bought one, but returning. Too much crap in here I will never use, drawers and the case in general is terrible, top draw sticks and doesn't open enough to get to back sockets. The other doesn't stay in place. Just picking it up and moving it across the room tools come lose and fall out of their spot. Also lack of extensions / adapters.

I was fortunate to get this set when they had a steel tool box with an upper compartment with storage area. Anything that relies on plastic hinges will eventually fail.
