Incredible book but I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook over written. It's considered by many to be the best audiobook out

This is a great book. If you are turned off after having seen the movie, the book shares nothing in common with it except the title.

I'm not much for horror but enjoyed the premise of the movie. Does the book dwell on dismemberments or stuff like that? I understand zombies are eating people I just don't care for books that like to linger in those moments.

I also would recommend the audio book with voice actors over the ebook in every way. It adds more dimension to it.

The book is great. It has nothing the movie, though. I thought the movie was pretty good, but it shouldn't have been called World War Z.

Been a long time since I read it but I dont believe so. It was more a story of multiple different people and their experiences during this time...almost like a journalist put together various people diaries of what happened when the zombies started to take over. I have to say it was a refreshing view of the zombie genre before it became bloated with the standard tropes. This isnt like a follow the tale of all these characters as much as its various chapters on different groups experiences. I would say it isnt too gratuitous with the gore but its been awhile since I remember the specifics, that said I highly recommend its a fast fun read.

Anyone read his new book Devolution? Any good? Saw it in the airport as I walked by and diddnt even realize he had a new one.

Edit: Read it when it came out but with all the convo on how good the audio book is I might have to try it again. Also, like everyone is saying, the book and movie have next to nothing other than zombies being similar. Literally they are completely different.

Book was way better than the movie, but neither are much to write home about. This is from the perspective of someone who loves horror and suspense.

Book is amazing. Except the title it has absolutely nothing about it that in any way looks like that horrid movie.

Devolution is okay. Not great, but an okay read.

It's not a horror book and it's not supposed to be suspenseful
