I still have my first mat (purchase Mar-Apr 2017) and it only recently started to show signs of wear. The 2nd one I got at last year's sale because honestly, I thought my first one would give up the ghost sooner.
The most recent one is definitely stickier, which was the only difference I noticed. I don't recall my first mat being sticky when I bought it ...by design or forgetfulness, who knows.
My kids use my first mat still when they feel the need to join me. These are fantastic mats and worth every penny and more, even at full price.
Edit: realized I should have clarified I work out on it 4 to 5 days a week, yoga for 30 to 45 minutes each day. It gets used.
