I think the biggest reason it didn't sell well is the pricing. It should have been 200-300 cheaper then iPhone 12. With only 100 bucks it's hard not to go for the regular 12. Also people who like small phones are not that much. I personally have all three iPhones 12 mini, 12 and 12 pro and I use 12 mini the most. Absolutely love this phone.

I went from the Otterbox Symmetry to the Apple leather case for my 12 mini, and I could not be happier with the leather case. It is much improved in terms of grip over the previous apple leather cases that I've tried. Nonetheless, for $5, I went with the black grip case. I'm sure I'll be giving this phone to a family member when I upgrade, and giving her (my mother, specifically) the option of a more protective case will be a wise choice. It appears from reviews that the Speck clear cases' buttons are a bit difficult to push, so I just went black. I've used grip cases in the past and have loved them, though I understand this Speck grip case is different from prior versions (the grip is hard plastic versus the soft material of prior grip cases). I suppose I may also use the case if I know I'll be taking a lot of video like at a ball game or something, and I may use the case in those instances as well. Thanks for the post!

I really thought this model would take off. I'm not a big iPhone person at all. I'm a pixel guy but even I picked up an IPhone mini because it's a powerhouse in a small package. It replaced my aging iPhone se(1st). Something about small iPhones. I like it.

Why should it be that much cheaper when it has all the same internals as the regular 12? Only thing is slower wireless charging. If anything I've been telling folks to bypass the 12 and get the pro. Got the extra 150, you're getting a better camera (3rd camera plus radar} better build, and 128gb vs 64gb. I thought the mini would sell well because it's a pretty large screen in a small body and fits nicely into pockets. Figured fashion forward folks would be all over it. I was completely wrong. Your reasoning is probably right. Folks just have it in their mind they want MORE phone for their dollar, even if more just means physically more. One handed use with the mini is just glorious

It's the same internals but with compromise. You have to deal with worst battery, screen brightness issues. My 12 mini sometimes gets overheated and will dim the max brightness. Apple already sells a small phone for 399 so people will not pay 729 for a similar sized phone with better internals and nicer screen. I personally love the 12 mini but I have to admit that for Apple it's a dud.

I've been using a Speck Presidio case on a LG V40 for a year. Its a great case with with a nice lip that sheilds phone face in any drop. The interior of the case is also reinforced. The case has nice gripage. These Speck cases tend to be among the cheapest but also among the best. I had other cases that were more expensive that I stopped using after a week
