I have one of these. It's not bad and it does the job, but it's also not very breathable/comfortable in my opinion. It's MUCH more "plastic" feeling than I expected prior to ordering. Again, it does what it's meant to do so I'd buy it again. I just wish it didn't feel so stiff and plasticky.

I bought two of these maybe 10yrs ago during some sale. Gave one to my brother. Maybe the material and quality have changed, but I found the jacket to be more like a rain sponge. The first time I wore it in wet weather my shoulders and arms were just soaked. And yes, not very breathable. Mine does have pit zips, so those help a little bit. Also, the hood on the ones I bought are very small and imo sits too far back on your head, just reaching the tip of my forehead and not extending enough to block any wind or rain. I wish I had returned them when I had the chance. I only use it as a wind breaker now.
I have the older 2.5L version and have used this in harsh windy and wet hikes in Ireland, Iceland, and N. California. It's completely waterproof and windproof. Anything more breathable will eventually take on water. This a great waterproof rain jacket/shell but other brands make similar shells for same price or cheaper. This is also a shell. There's no insulation, but it is warm. I wear a down layer underneath if going out in the cold. They also make an insulated torrentshell (i also own it and it's amazing). If you just want a lightweight water resistant jacket that's breathable then there are better options out there.
