I read it as well but bought it anyway. Reason being, it's $10, and, for the intended age range, smaller blurbs aren't so bad. Around age 9 or 10, I found an old set of encyclopedias at our house and really got into reading them, but I was really far along on the nerd spectrum. Our daughter is headed in that direction, so this would be a good jumping-off point for her. Our son, who is just finishing first grade, isn't as strong a reader, but he's getting better, so shorter blurbs could help him practice without getting overwhelmed.
As for the perceived bias by the reviewer, I don't know the reviewer's bias, either, so I'll make up my own mind after I receive the book. And, again, it's only $10.
