I brought the 3200 is it worth it to return to get 3600 or just do the OC to 3600 ?
Whatd you buy the 3200 for? Depending on the price difference and hassle, it may be worth it to return. Personally, I'd probably just OC the 3200. OCing E die isn't too difficult to learn. I want to say it took me a couple hours to pick it up and then I just tweaked.
Just last year I picked up CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model CMK16GX4M2D3600C18 for around $60. Going to hold off until prices are more realistic, even though I do need more memory sometime soon.

Yup, 8.888 nanoseconds vs 10 nanoseconds. In all honesty I doubt average users will ever benefit from the difference. If you are chasing WRs in 32M on Hwbot or utilize software that truly will take advantage of the tighter timings then by all means go after the fastest set of ram you can find.(which then it can get quite complicated as CL is just scratching the surface when really pushing memory including the type of CPU architecture you're coupling it with and along other variables.. Average users including gamers are better off saving their money when it comes to worrying to much about cas latency imo.
Oh no doubt on that bro. Average user wont even know any speed difference between any ddr4 ram. But the fact is this ram kit is faster than what he bought in the past. Hence the price difference. And with the current market we are living in. Don't expect it to become like 2 years ago, like before the pandemic. My point is, if you want to compare, make it fair! What an average user will see or feel does not matter in this case.

Prices on stuff can and do come down, specially in a supply/demand economy. The $20 difference for what amounts to indiscernible speeds on almost mirror like RAM from two very popular brands is big enough for me to not buy. If anyone needs RAM now and cannot wait, then this is a good price. Just sayin.

Highly recommend. Oced for me from 3200 to 3600 16 16 18 35 at stock voltages and it was downright easy.
