-round shape makes it impossible to put one under another one
-takes 15-30 seconds to reconnect to wifi after being pulled out of the wall and put back in (to simulate power outage)
-Only has 2.4ghz (meaning it wont work with 5ghz internet)
-App needs to know location for some reason (WHY??)
-ipad app is just a port of iphone app but bigger, the app doesn't fit the whole screen on my ipad

You only quoted the cons from a 4 stars top review.
do you work for CNN by any chance?

Everything that mentioned in pros is a standard for smart plugs that I had. These cons are big turn-down for me. For example, I don't understand the designer designed a round shape. Seems like that person never been to US before designing it. That's why I said it's a fail product, not meant for US customers.

Oh, no, not 15 seconds to reconnect! In what situation would you be using a smart plug where 15 seconds is simply too long?
Who cares if it supports 5GHz? It's not like you need the throughput, interference is irrelevant (unless you're just really terrible at setting up your network), and 2.4GHz has more range.
If nothing else, the app needs to know location because it's tied to WiFi use. This is extremely common knowledge.
I agree that the round shape sucks and I, personally, don't have any...but I have several sockets where the only thing plugged in is the smart plug, so it's not like this is a terrible thing for everyone.
I can't comment on the app in particular, but I'm curious as to how much time each day you stare at the apps for your smart devices? I leverage the "smart" aspect of them, set the schedules, and then open them every other month or something.
I think you're missing the real concern here: the possibility that this thing will catch your house on fire. And is that even likely to happen? No.

Good for you. Why didn't you get one yourself then.

You know you can buy 1ft outlet extensions for like a dollar right? They're super useful for a ton of different devices like "wall warts". I've never had a smart plug not block other outlets, and it's never been a big deal.
All your other cons sound like you're some shill. The apps for these plugs at least in my case are a one time setup, then you can just delete/disable it. All other interaction comes from my Alexa/Google Home devices or apps. Lol oh no the iPad app doesn't fit the whole screen!
2.4ghz only - again I've had other plugs too like this. Most IoT devices should be on 2.4ghz because 5ghz sucks ass for penetrating through walls and range.
15-30 seconds to connect back to wiFi - this seems normal for just about any device that connects to WiFI? wtf
Location - Sucks but necessary for WiFi scanning. Again just disable the permission or uninstall the app once it's been setup.
I don't know why I even bothered responding to someone like you, but hopefully this helps someone else. Too bad the deal doesn't appear be live anymore, otherwise I might have bought it.

Ooops, seems like you missed your train.
I'll give you credit, you've got guts. Personally, if I had whined about such pointless things as you and someone called me out on it in detail, I'd probably just pretend like I didn't see the notification.
Good for you for coming back with any response at all.

I actually did LOL at the prior post addressing the copy/pasted complaints he got from the product reviews. I really feel like people who think "no 5GHZ OMG!!" people are completely out of their element and just checking boxes what they think is somehow important. It's not like you're streaming 4K to a smart outlet and why would you want shorter range.... anyways yeah i pretty much stopped reading at that point knowing it's just a ton of petty nonsense. I have one of their smart power strips was on here for like $13 or something works just fine, would have bought these but missed out, oh well. Thanks for the laugh at least
