It's one of the most popular flavors next to chicken. This was previously called "oriental flavor" before it was changed to a more PC name.

Don't sweat it, just make your own sauce at a fraction of the sodium. Plain soy sauce, or dress it up with rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha. I usually toss out the flavor packets anyway, they're just too salty.

Only soy sauce left. Is the flavor any good?

Thank you for the idea. I don't buy them much, and agree that they are salty. I use only half of the seasoning.

Thank you. I may give them a try. Like ash78 said, I could always just make my own sauce or seasoning.

I just can't eat this stuff anymore. My feet get bloated and weird stomach discomfort and head pressure sensation. I could be too much salt, or something in this doesn't agree with me. I like the taste of it, and I even tried it was 1/4 a packet of seasons. I do like it BUT my INNER sense says "DON'T do it!".

Do you guys notice any side effects from eating this stuff, when I was younger, I don't recall any side effects when I ate this stuff or potato chips. Smilie

I never use the packets. Make my own sauce to mix with the noodles

The old recipe tasted like a rug?

....edited with update after I did google search

update: I did research just now and found this:
Ramen noodles do contain ingredients that could trigger digestive distress in people with allergies and sensitivities. The noodles contain gluten, wheat and soybeans, while the flavor packet may have monosodium glutamate in its ingredients.
Oh no. Watch out or zee MSG will get you

That's dumb because there is supposed to be a distinction. It's not ok to refer to Asian people as "orientals." However, it's perfectly fine to call things "oriental," e.g. Oriental rug, etc.

Yes. This is sodium flavored sodium. Best to at least use your own seasoning when eating highly preserved noodles coated with a butane to prevent sticking.

I bought the A-Sha taiwanese noodles at costco and the seasoning is literally just soy sauce + sesame oil. Add some vegs, meat, fried garlic, green onions (or just some fried garlic) and it's delish. The noodles weren't anything special either, so probably would work w instant ramen too.

This is a very disgusting flavor. I'd take chicken beef or creamy chicken at higher price over this.
