I went through four of those friggin' things with various retailers, including direct from Cuisinart. Every single one would not properly close on the top right of the unit, letting all the heat leak out and making doing almost anything accurately impossible, but making it very probable that if you store/use this under a kitchen cabinet you'll ruin it.

Sorry to (kind of) threadcrap, but that's a lot of money for something that seems to have a built-in defect.

No worries. The sum of my experience with them is through a few glowing reviews. If it doesn't hold up long term, better people are aware.

The really scary part, though, was that these were brand new units. Never used. They were manufactured so sloppily that this was "as good as it gets".

Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Just a "buyer beware" type thing.

I just returned my 3rd one to Amazon. 1st was a "like new" used one, but the other 2 were new. All had the door issue. I would stay away.

Analyzing the product photos on the web and in the instructions, as well as watching the Cuisinart videos posted on Cuisinart and Amazon, (somewhere between unit 3 and 4) I noticed the door hinge mechanism changed, probably very early on in production.

Add to that the production problems that Cuisinart had during covid, mixed with the usual poor QA tolerances from china, and boom....Door will never stay closed.

Cuisinart knows this, the reviews on their website and loaded with people saying the same. They either don't care or think it's "good enough". Truly sad.
