I have bought an Apple Watch from them via ebay Grade A, but it was like new and I checked Apple Warranty checker and it had like 11 months left on warranty. Legit seller and legit products.
VIP Outlet are well known and they will never send out fake products.
I bought a q80 series Samsung TV advertised as A condition, and they sent me a ru7000 in poor condition. Their customer service is awful. Not only would they not send the tv model I ordered, but I had to get my money back by cc dispute as they claimed that they refunded me but my bank never got it.
I did buy a tablet from them several years ago on ebay and that went smooth. I think this company went to shit thought now that they are selling directly from their own website.

I've purchased from them 4 yrs ago, an iPad Pro. It was basically brand new boxed and accessories and still had the almost the full Apple warranty minus 2 weeks. Someone probably bought and returned it in a day or 2 since the time between Apple registering it as sold/warranty started to the time the ebay seller got it and processed it for sale and got it to my hand was less than 2 weeks. They must work really close to whatever retailer they're selling for.
What they sell is probably store returns. I wouldn't trust any "refurbished" tag they put on their listings. I doubt they even test these, probably only check it's there and powers on. You can get anything from basically brand new where the buyer opened it and return to the store to shady stuff where someone put a fake back in the box and returned that to the store. Most of the stuff will probably be somewhere in the middle. With a lot of it being used stuff that people return to stores within a stores return period.
I purchased a mavic drone from them as a grade B and it was pretty much mint besides the feet where the drone sits on the ground were slightly scuffed. Very pleased with them, I went ahead and ordered a pair of AirPods Pro so hopefully things go well.
I received mine today, pleased to report first impressions are surprisingly good! The case had some minor, almost invisible marks that came off with an alcohol wipe, the AirPods themselves had no markings or signs of use. Paired without any trouble, seem to be working great. The Lightning cable and replacement tips haven't been opened.
I attempted to purchase AppleCare however received an error that the purchase date cannot be validated, so I'm guessing it may not be possible.
When my Airpods Pro had pairing issues all the Genius could do is order a replacement Airpod. So save yourself some money by getting hold of some amazon or Costco deal on this.
They go on sale for 189 and if you got any of that amazon discounts like 20% with Amex or discover or whatever you could come out better. I paid 160 after coupon in 2019 at Amazon. Just my 2ç

I don't know if my problem is like yours but I got that same purchase date cannot be validated error when trying to check warranty coverage for Airpods Pro purchased and shipped directly from Amazon. The problem I was having was because I wasn't entering the full serial number string in. There was an "S" at the beginning in brackets that I had missed because it was separate from the rest of the number string. I only realized it when going back to complain to Amazon and noticing that they have the serial number recorded in the order transaction and it included that "S" at the beginning of the number string.
I went ahead and ordered them and received mine yesterday. There was a code for first time purchases which brought it down to $116. Figured I take the chance at that price.
They came in a medium size box with lots of brown paper wrapping. The Airpods Pro box was sealed in plastic. Everything looked new inside. No scratches, no marks, NO EARWAX. They paired right away to my iPhone and everything works as intended. Noise cancellation, no static or wonky audio.
Maybe I was lucky and got a good pair as opposed to some of the reviews I read. I tried checking the warranty coverage and they can't be validated - like others have said. It also aid it was not eligible for apple care coverage.

Do you have that code you used for first time purchase?
