Just for the record, there's was just an independent study that called out a few brands of sunscreen that they found high levels of benzene in and sun bum was one of the brands.

Am I missing something? From looking at the chart of results in the article, Sun Bum Lotion is <0.1 Benzene Avg ppm. Their 'Cool Down Gel' product is showing over 5ppm Benzene, but that's not what this product or most of their products are??

Please help me if I'm misunderstanding. Thanks!

I think the issue is that the sunscreen doesn't need benzene to be produced. The results that they contain any benzene is a red flag because the sunscreen was somehow contaminated with benezene.

The case for the majority of sunscreens. Do your research. Crazy how something that is supposed to protect you is actually doing the damage. Not dissimilar from the healthcare system

You're probably thinking of Oxybenzone, a chemical found in plants. The study is talking about Benzene, which is found in crude oil. It's not supposed to be in sunscreen and the study lists the products that did not contain the chemical. Do your research. LMAO
