Can I do better than this for the price? Overwhelmed with options, and don't want to settle... which it feels like people often do with monitors. I glanced at a rtings review, and I think it said you may not be able to get over the glare when used in a room that has a lot of light. Also said blacks can look grey.

You get the great panel of the 27gl850-b with the awesome ergo stand for the same price. Tough choice between this and the s2721d that's on sale now.

Just bought two s2721d a couple weeks ago. For $200 it is hard to beat. But obviously not a equivalent to this. Buy a fancy monitor arm from Amazon for cheap and great for non-gaming.

all IPS panels have gray looking black, thats the downside of IPS, want deeper blacks go VA with its much higher contrast.

Depends how bright your room is. During daytime or night with the lights on, you won't see a difference. In a very dark room you will.
