I keep a pair of the cheap cotton gloves with the spare tire in each car, since they make tire changes easier and cleaner. Can treat as "almost" disposable at this price.

These may look good enough to wear and keep hands warm when it gets a little chilly

How do these compare to the 10 pack from Costco?

I saw "cotton" and thought these might be good for an extra protective layer under leather firefighter gloves, but the 65% polyester nixes that idea. Not so much a fan of melted fiber on my flesh. To each their own, though; I don't kink shame.

Might still pick these up for doing some odd jobs in the garage. They seem thin enough to allow for decent dexterity and touch sensation, but without getting hands too grimy. I do a lot of projects that require transitioning between fairly protected hands and clean ones, and the washability of these would help reduce my dependence on (currently very expensive) disposable nitrile gloves.

I prefer canvas gloves that are around the same price at hardware stores. Jersey gloves are soft and don't offer much protection from anything prickly.

Ya, that's why I was wondering why these were good for the garden

Costco ones will last longer as long as you clean them with just water after each use especially if they get dirty (like while garden work)

I do a fair bit of gardening. The brown jersey gloves are for very light wear, so nothing too thorny, abrasive (think concrete or bark), and if you get them wet they shrink like the devil. If you have fine skin - age or sex - then these can still prevent abrasions and wearing away of outer layers of skin. I find the nitrile coated ones, or the leather palms/fingers-cotten back type gloves, like at Harbor Freight, the best deals. Those also resist thorns or concrete better.

If you're near a Rural King, their Brown Jersey gloves are $8 for a dozen or $10 for a twenty pack.

I can't speak to durability. I lose mine before I can wear them out.

Canvas gloves are good for general construction. Nitrile gloves are good for automotive work. For gardening, these latex gloves work the best for me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001YJHEDW/

They are thick enough to work with prickly stuff and wire mesh, and yet cheap at approx a dollar per pair.

Because Slickdeals told us to buy them and so people buy them. This is no longer a deals forum imo

This $4.96 price is the normal price for these more often than not since September of 2019 with occasional spikes up to a max of $7.99 according to the Camel 🐪. May be an Ok deal but not less than it has been regularly.

Not a big fan of the jersey, lack protection, not durable, and no grip…but good price for almost throwaway gloves to keep your hands clean where one does not need protection or grip.
