Here's a very good, in depth review of this exact Dell G15 5510 laptop.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaloTlgCguI

And here's a review of the Lenovo Legion 5 with the same RTX 3060 but at 130 watts, and a Ryzen 5800H

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU3l-zQk40I

In relative overall gaming performance, you get like 5% more gaming performance going from a i7-108750H with a 90 watt 3060 to a Ryzen 5800H with a 130 watt 3060, according to the review. Not really worth the added heat, and money in my opinion. The pure CPU bench scores are a bit higher though on the Ryzen G15. I'd definitely save the cash, and go with this much cheaper G15 intel model. Hope this helps!

The Ryzen version is like $245 more. I do hear it runs a lot hotter though too. But the Ryzen G15 does have a better 300 nit screen. I wouldn't say the Core i7-10870H is old. It came out in late 2020.

Yeah, I got the laptop showing up. Along with $64 in rewards. Fiancee's bday present is going to definitely include some accessory.

It's not showing in my Rewards account.

I called Dell and was told to wait for 30 days after the invoice date and call them again if it still does not show up Confused

I asked a Dell rep what wattage the GPU was before I bought the laptop, and he said 115 instead of the actual 90. I just messaged them back to cancel the order. But they asked if I would take $100 in credit back to my original payment method if I didn't cancel..

Looks like I got this laptop for $914!

yummy Smooth move!

Anyone know if you can undervolt the CPU? If you can that would make the rig quite decent. Using Throttlestop, you can also do all sorts of customization.

Not really. I UVed my MSI Raider because you can unlock it in the bios. Makes a huge difference. What I was wondering is if Dell had a similar way to do so in their laptops. If you can you won't be giving up much to Ryzen.

Even if you can't, I think Throttlestop will work fine set custom profiles for clock speed, number of cores active, etc. Use Afterburner for the GPU. Some info on mine here: https://www.techpowerup.com/forum...75.279412/

Ope. Sorry. I meant the answer to your question was complicated. Not throttlestop. I used throttlestop on a i7 9750H with some pretty great results. I just got this Dell G15 5510 in the mail today! Ran Cinebench R23 for 10 minutes on multi core and single core for 10 minutes each. HWinfo shows that the CPU ran at an average of 72C! Icy. Unfortunately though, even at 72C the laptop fans are just slightly loud still. All around I'm happy with my purchase at $914 before tax. If anyone has any questions, feel free to let me know. I'll try my best to answer. I'm a bit of a noobie when it comes to tech. I'm hoping to see what scores and temps are with the Ryzen 5800H CPU in this chassis.

Cinebench scores on my i7 is
CPU (multi core) 8868
CPU (single core)1208

Here's a pic of it.

That's nuts. Confused

The CPUs normally hit 95C at full power. What was your power and clock speed at that temperature?

EDIT: I just did a run with my 10750H and got a score of 8679 with only 6 cores @4.3 GHz... so you are running much slower.

EDIT2: 1248 in single core, so that's about the same.
