Will you be just benching with this bar? THen it'll be ok. Dropping it, probably will bend, but nothing catastrophic will happen like snapping in half or something.

Low quality but it'll get the job done for MOST.

after using a sears branded bar for many years, I found out it was 37 lbs instead of 45. Bought a rogue ohio bar and still using it. The quality difference is immediately apparent, this is one equipment you don't want to skimp out on in a home gym.

I'm into the power/body building game. Crap bar, but if you're in need, barbell and weights and a power/squat rack with safeties is the best bang for your buck if you want weight to squat/deadlift/bench and overhead press, barbell row. CAP also has a cheap barbell for like $150, same capacity. Most folks aren't lifting 700lbs anyways.

The other side of the argument is buying something like Rogue/Bells of Steel, etc. Because you do get asset value for purchasing these items (they can be resold) vs a bar like this which is a 'crap' bar would be eating the cost. Yes they're a lot more expensive, but you get more from it (bar knurling, higher tensile stretch which means pretty much no chance in bending the bar on a drop, better rotation of sleeves if you olympic/crossfit type of lifts)

For anyone just looking to add muscle and look great for the beach, this will work along with some adjustable dumbbells, bench power/squat rack /w safeties (you can do it without safeties if you buy bumpers and know how to drop weight off your back, but for bench... just get the safeties, don't kill yourself).

If its bare minimal without weights, you can get away with a crap ton of pull-ups/push ups/burpees. Basically just a place to pull up, buy some gymnastic rings ($30ish) to wrap around something and do different types of abs/push ups/tri/biceps stuff. Push ups with chairs and handstands.

The biggest issue may be the grip sections. These can dig into you hands if they are raised up more than better quality bars. Sharp edging can have an effect, but gloves can help.

Seems like a decent bar/deal to me.

Anybody received their order yet? It says it's supposed to arrive today but according to the fedex status, it hasn't even been shipped out yet.

Edit: walmart lost my order, they are going to ship out a replacement.

It finally shipped out. FedEx updated tracking, getting it Thursday. Walmart app showed it as shipped over a week ago but FedEx showed that they were waiting for shipper. Since you ordered after me maybe a few more days until yours really gets shipped out.
