In case you don't know, these are fantastic, easy to set up to work with alexa to control plug in lights and other stuff, anywhere you have a wifi signal. Easily worth this great sale price of $6 each.

These were the only brand of smart plugs that worked reliably with my network. Other brands kept losing the connection all the time. I stopped using Fakespot because I found their ratings arbitrary and unreliable.

I think these are great and this is a good price, but I am running out of uses for them. A lot of devices have built in features that make these sort of useless and then for the items without built-in scheduling, simply turning them on does not activate them like you need. For example, we have a fan in the bedroom for white noise. This will enable power, but we still need to manually turn on the unit. Now, if you have a lamp that you can leave in the "on" position and have it come on on a schedule, then that is a great use!

I have 10 of these in my house. TP-Link is surprisingly good compare to the other brands. The app is great too. I think the only limiting factor is your WiFi router being able to support this many devices.

Not sure about the Fakespot reviews for this new model but I have 6 of their older HS103 and 1 of the HS105 smart plugs and they work pretty flawlessly. I also have many of the Kasa light switches and same working quality although my wife complains (and I agree) the tactile feel on their 2020 light switches is crap, but if using voice or app as intended, I don't care as much. Compared to the many no-name brands out there which each require their own questionable app, TP-Link and their Kasa line have been around for quite some time and their app feels polished and works well. I have it joined as a Skill/Device to Alexa and SmartThings Apps and works in both if you have a more extensive home automation setup, and don't like using the Kasa app on a regular basis.

For this new model it does appear mainly not as deep which is good in certain situations, can still fit 2 stacked on a standard outlet which many of the round ones can't, but one thing I would miss is they moved the on/off LED to the switch, so possibly harder to tell visually if on/off from as many angles as is possible on the older models with the semi-translucent border around one side with dim LED projecting into it.

Still I'd think the new model is just as good and Amazon has a good return policy if you try and hate them.

Does this new more compact model consume less power than the old one? I measured the old one and it about 2-3 watts even when off.

So far I haven't been able to get these t work with the Smart Life app. This would have been a show stopper for me because I don't need yet another iOT app in my life. :-) It's bad enough that I also have to the Leviton app for just my switches. Anyone else been able to make this work?

Bought these last time they were FP for $19 (2 or so weeks ago). Use them for our TVs. The app is solid and integrates well with Alexa. My only mild regret is not sticking to one brand for all smart things (from locks to switches and plugs, etc). Something worth considering before taking the plunge.

No complaints, though. Just gotta find good uses for them.

Try reviewmeta. They break it down into way more detail than fakespot and are a little more reliable. I wouldn't base my purchases solely on their ratings either though. I own a few Kasa products and run them through my Google home setup. No issues. As far as I'm concerned, they are one of the better brands for smart home products.

I have these, Wemo Meross and some off brand ones. Meross is pretty good But TP link honestly have been the easiest to use, maintain and if need reset. I hate Wemo with a passion. I use the TP link for a TV, outdoor lights and I have all my tools in the garage set on a timer weekly to top up batteries and haven't had to touch them at all once the schedule was set in the app.

Between family, friends, coworkers and for my own house, I helped deploy over 100+ of these kasa outlets. These are stupid easy to setup and configure. They work on WiFi using 2.4ghz frequency.

No issues whatsoever.
