Almost pulled the trigger until I read the Amazon reviews...

Apparently when playing through AUX the speakers shutoff after 10 min.

Bluetooth sound quality is spotty.

Also, difficult adding any other speakers such as a center speaker for a 5.1 setup etc. Volume resets each time they turn on/off
I haven't had the issue with the AUX but can confirm the volume resets. Definitely not a good set for a 5.1 system.

Anyone seen the non powered versions of these lately? I know they are older, and maybe no longer manufactured.

I think they'd be the r28f

How good is this for music compared to Elac UB5 or KEF Q350 or any other bookshelf speakers with a nice amp/DAC setup?

Are you asking if you spend double and maybe even triple the cost of these, will you get a better setup?

I am asking if these can compared to bookshelf speakers for music listening. I just mentioned couple of speaker pairs which I own. For example I have Elac UB5 with Emotiva TA-100 set up. I am looking for another pair to have them in my bed room. This looks a nice deal with out needing an amplifier. Any thoughts?

For a secondary setup, it would probably do fine. Only difference between bookshelf and towers is the tower's lower bass extension from cabinet size. If you are fine with the Klipsch brand sound signature, which will probably be closer to your KEFs than ELACs, go for it.

Adorama is having a pretty good sale on the Klipsch RP line of speakers. I would check those out.

Thanks a lot bud! I will try bookshelf speakers of klipsch first. I always hear that they sound different.

Different sound signatures. You are comparing apples and oranges. These are really big compared to bookshelves you mentioned. KEFs and ELACs sound really good, but when compared to towers with dual 8" drivers, towers will kill them. If you have space and don't mind to spend $399 for good music listening experience, go for it. You will not regret buying these speakers.

— I have klipsch, ELACs and KEFs. KEFs are my primary go-to music speakers though.

Thanks a lot bud! I am happy if they are good for music and if I get more out of it. I always had a doubt if the towers sound better for music. I've got it now. I will pull the trigger at this price. Bdw which KEF you have?
