Excellent deal with dedicated 4GB graphics card. Lately there have been similar deals with i5-10XX series for $499 and above. For $80 more you'd get dedicated graphics and slightly better PSU (360W here compared to 200W PSU generally).

I know even this PSU wouldn't not be ideal for a good gaming PC but it's more then enough to support this spec and potential 8GB RAM and SSD upgrades.

Very informative video. It makes sense to stay away from this graphics card if you are building a good gaming rig. But this deal makes a good option for someone who is thinking about sub $500 PC with occasional gaming (Elementary/middle school kids who only have limited screen times).

I bought this deal a month or two ago and pulled the GPU out for my computer (which happens to be a Dell XPS). That video blows it WAY out of proportion. The GPU works fine, and I did some tiny upgrades like add a 120mm fan in the front for $15 and a better CPU cooler for $25. It's a great computer for the price.

You can get a very good deal on eBay / fb marketplace these days, as scalpers are buying pre-built desktops for GPU, take it out and re-sell pretty cheap.

And it would cost $5 to put some thermal pads on the memory and drill some holes in the plastic if it really caused any problems. His entire channel is built on petty computer drama.

I own the system too (got it months ago) and I agree with everything he said. Added fan, updated CPU fan and clean Windows install is necessary. As for the GPU, I am still thinking if it's worth voiding warranty.

it doesn't seem that hard to find a heatsink/fan that can fit the GPU. I did that to another prebuilt system.(two 80mm Noctua fans and a CoolMaster heatsink from my box of random computer parts) Managed to bring the temp down almost 15 degrees(Celcius) and dramatically reduced the fan noise.

Seems to me all the bad reviews are based on the usual $900-ish price. At $579, I don't think it's a very decent speedy computer. (as long as the buyer realizes that the power supply, motherboard and ports are nearly nearly impossible to upgrade/repair for reasonable prices, since they are all proprietary)

YMMV... I hardly see deals that made sense especially since they would be out of warranty. Usually they are good gaming PC and even after they remove graphics card the cost would be $400-$500+ if relatively new. That's a bit of risk at that price point IMHO. I haven't seen decent spec'd unit cheaper than that. Perhaps you have better luck šŸ™‚

Good idea to replace the whole cooler, I will look into it!
