Whenever Amazon has a price drop and item is back ordered, first thing to search google for the item model and find out which other store sells at that price which triggered Amazon to match it. in this case, Home Depot marked it down from $11 to $8.80 as mentioned above.

There are several mentions in the reviews of the ground indicator light flaking out on these (but grounding continuing to work, so relatively minor). Affordable power strips / surge protectors with 6-foot cords and flat plugs are hard to find; I bought one.

Yes, like a 90 degree plug to the wall so it stay flushed against the wall and doesn't protrude out as much. Check some pictures on amazon review.
