How does this compare to the other hp gaming desktop desk with the 3060ti?
If you referring the one with $1263, I have posted then that one has better GPU performance because of having a more powerful GPU. On the other hand, this has more powerful CPU (8 Core/16 Thread vs 6C/12T). So, you will get better CPU performance in CPU intensive applications.

Thank you sir, I'm not up to snuff on specs. I realize the i5 vs i7, but wasn't sure on the 3060 comparison. Looks like same case and psu too, but not certain.

you might get $840, before ebay/paypal steal 13% cut.
plus another $20 shipping/insurance
and you're left with 700.
$425 +tax on $1125 with a gimped motherboard.... is alright i guess.
that 10.25% tax here in cali though, owww. $115 extra steal.
eBay no longer uses Paypal for payment processing.
There are very few states with no sales tax, but they have to earn their revenue somewhere else. The government needs money to function and provide services to it's citizens.

Most GPUs are taken by miners, though, so who knows now that Nvidia limited these cards for mining. Maybe we'll see some availability.
not with this chip shortage
