Basically the support falls on party lines, unless it can be worked into a reconciliation bill or they blow the filibuster it's not happening.
Edit: just for clarity, didn't want to get the politics argument going on this more just a realistic view of whether the credit will get added to make this a much better deal.

Comparing MSRP is relevant. Just because an item is junk and sells for half, doesn't mean its a good value. It started overpriced and now they're selling for a loss.
Niro, Leaf, Kona, etc, all sell for MSRP.
I bought one for 22k new. Could have been less. I can say this is not comprable to Tesla, BMW, Kia Group, or even the Leaf. These are fragile poorly built, inexpensive vehicles that are, even at 22k, not worth it.
You're not getting a great or slickdeal. You're getting overpriced, heavily discounted junk, at a price above what its worth. Even when 50% off, they still cant get rid of them.
Put one on a lift and take a look.
Well by your own admission you paid 22K for a Bolt. Why do you keep comparing it to BMW or a 40K Tesla? That is DOUBLE the price. Why not compare it to other 20K cars? Maybe a little more fair.
Comparing MSRP is NOT relevant. Sales price is all that is relevant. Haven't you ever heard of a market adjustment? I mean a new C8 corvette right now will carry at least a 10-25K market adjustment if you want to buy off the lot, so is the MSRP relevant or the sales price?
The battery only EV shines in local driving. Highway driving over 55MPH is less efficient for any cars but do most damage on the EVs.

Bolts at one point sold for over MSRP and the SAME price as a Tesla. Look back at all the posts, people compare the Bolt to the aforementioned cars. Correct them, I'm well aware of market value. These, again, even at 20k, are overpriced. Just goes to show, if they discount crap enough, people will try and justify its value.
The Bolt has been around for quite a few years now. It is the full electric, compared to the Volt which is hybrid.
Consider this Bolt the less luxurious equivalent to the model 3. The Bolt and the 3 continue to 1-up each other on driving range each year. I've driven both, I like both, but I'm partial to Chevy. All that said, infrastructure where I live still isn't ready for full electric
