Thanks. Looks a bit bulkier than the Dewalt, though.

The Milwaukee has a nice 3 light setup around the anvil.

People buying mid-torque impacts aren't necessarily interested in large amounts of torque (there's always high-torque models for that), but are looking for a size/weight/torque balance that fits their needs the best. If that's the Makita for you, then woohoo, but only if you already have the batteries for it...

Yes i agree the m18 new stubby mid torque in my opinion is the best option due to its size but obviously battery platform is a big deal when it comes to that. I guess the makita could be better if your not interested in getting a high torque gun tho

If you can only afford one, the highest torque.... nobody ever said they had too much torque with a battery impact.

Typically, most larger torque battery impacts have multiple speeds that allows you to lessen the torque from maximum for different applications.

I went with the 14/15. I don't do any automotive work that needs higher torque applications.

The downside is the weight and size. I checked on my car and there are more than a few places where the mid torque will fit but the high torque won't. The Mid is also 2lbs less.

And a these things will probably see more lugnuts than anything else.

Seriously, what are you taking apart on your car that an extension will not fit from the higher torque impact? My statement was 'if you can only afford one'... but if 2 to 3lb is a deal killer for occasional use, I would consider changing from my skinny jeans, or just have my girlfriend do it. Smilie
