If you are looking for a sub $100 tool cart to get some tools off the floor, the Walmart hyper tough 5 drawer is on sale as well for $98 Down from 199. It is a junker but I like the 2 swinging bottom doors instead of the craftsman 1 flip up door.
And the middle riser area fits a few more bulky items. I'm sure you know any carts in the 100 range are nothing very good. Just a organizer to put in a dark corner
I had the gray 80 year Special Edition until last year. Bought it on Black Friday 2007 for $99, actually, thanks to SD. Big Grin Pretty much the same as this one (top and bottom in the pic). Save for the chest in the middle and the Cornwell side box I got some years ago when starting to run out of room.

Worked fine. Never had any issues. A bit flimsier metal than the more expensive ones, but still did its job. Until I ran completely out of space, of course, and went kind of crazy with the garage/tool storage stuff. LMAO
Bought this last month when it was on sale for the same price. I'm happy with it, but be warned it is not going to look pristine. Mine came out of the box with weld dimples all over it, other than that it actually looked great. But the very first time I put a box down on top of it it got some big swirly scratches all over the top. Nothing major but definitely left a sour taste in my mouth so shortly after buying it. Almost returned it but between the effort to bring it home and put it together and the likelihood that it would happen exactly the same way if I exchanged it for a new one I just decided to keep it. If you're looking for a no frills toolbox to get started with this is a great choice, just be aware of what you're spending and what you're getting!

Anyone have any experience with this? Seems like a nice deal for some secondary tool storage but I know modern craftsman can be a bit shit. Thanks for posting either way.

Haha right on, think I'm currently entering that phase. Very much appreciate the input.

Oh nice, also had my eye on that guy. Saw a few in stock locally. Right there with you about the quality. As you said, just to get em off the damn floor. Thanks for the heads up.

I have some Crfatsman 2000 series pieces, that are pretty decent.
This is their 1000 series which is pretty thin/flimsy

These are ok basic tool chest. Don't add too much weight or expect much from it.

I have one like this for sand paper, bulbs, electrical connectors, etc... I have a larger/thicker metal chest for my hand tools.

EDIT: I think the earlier comments answered my question Smilie. HFT it is.

Just taking metal thickness/quality and drawer butteriness into account, i remember the Harbor Freight one being a better choice for $129 (when on sale)…any one strongly disagree?

Disclaimer: I'm solely basing this off of tool drawers I've opened and closed at the respective stores for not more than 5 seconds on a couple different occasions. I need something but don't know what I should buy as a first quality drawer.

This is the one I'm taking about btw (I know it's less storage but at the moment I'm just looking to get my first one for my tiny diyer collection of tools) I don't mind spending an extra $30-$50 to get something I'll enjoy using.

Between the hyper tough and this one; which one is a better quality? Would it make sense to just buy a non-rolling tool chest if the budget is your constraint and less space and rolling is not?

Haha, I thought it was a toy when I first saw it too. Not sure why, maybe those bottom doors handles?

I bought this a month ago when it was going for $120, and at under $100, it's a great value. The size is decent. If you're comparing these to those on Amazon, look carefully, the Amazon ones are tiny and cost as much or more than this. Craftmanship is ok. It could be a bit better honestly, but considering the options out there at this pricing point, I doubt you'll get anything better. If you want something heavy duty, invest in something above $200. But this is a great starter kit. I too had a small dent in it on the bottom, but whatevers...it seems inevitable when you ship these kind of things. Go pickup if possible.
