I have 4 of these hooked up via ethernet backhaul so not sure what you are referring to.
Not everyone has an ethernet connection where they install the satellite. Other mesh systems have dedicated 5ghz wireless backhaul between main router and satellite so no need for an ethernet cable hookup for satellite to get the best performance.
With this system, the satellite doesn't require an ethernet but can connect to the main router over 2.4GHz and 5GHz depending on reliability of the connection. Since not dedicated, performance is affected.

Oh I see what you're saying, a dedicated wireless backhaul. I haven't had any issues since I am on an ethernet backhaul, and have 4 of these in a 2,000 sqft house, so my connection is rock solid so far. For $37 for a pack of 2, you really can't go wrong though, especially since I was replacing an older single router AC system.
Marietta, GA store didn't seem to have any on the clearance shelf with the other routers/modems despite saying 3-4 in stock at $37 on BS. They had a Netgear RAX20 for $55 (and some other Netgear marked at $100) but it didn't seem worth it.

It's most likely in the back stock room where only the department manager knows where they are or an electronics associate peon is hiding it for themselves to buy later.
If you really want it, go during the day when the department manager is working and ask them if they have any in stock by showing them the barcode (linked from brickseek). Don't ever show them brickseek.com 😉
The count on brickseek.com will match the count when they pull it up on their handheld / telzon device.
