I currently have the WEN 56380i and have been on the lookout for a deal on a 2000 series WEN generator and this popped up. Ordered it yesterday and It just shipped out today laugh out loud

Great price as others are selling it for way more: Amazon & Walmart $492, HD $524

Has the fuel shut off feature which is great.

Specs:
- EPA III and CARB-Compliant 79.7cc 4-Stroke OHV engine produces 2250 surge watts and 1800 rated watts
- Extremely quiet 53 dB operation comparable to the sound of a normal conversation according to the US Department of Health and Human Services
- Fuel shutoff maximizes the generator's lifespan by using up the remaining fuel in the carburetor before shutting down
- Produces clean power to safely operate sensitive electronics such as smartphones, tablets, televisions and computers
- Includes two three-prong 15A 120V receptacles, two 5V USB ports, an oil access panel, and a two-year warranty

Free shipping and no tax for me. $385 out the door.
Not sure how long this deal will last.

Regular generator is not the same as inverter generator. This is pure sine wave for those that are concerned about their electronics.
Just because you're lucky doesn't mean you're right. CO rises and what unfortunately oftentimes happens is the CO goes up and into the house of an attached garage. Plus just because you can in your situation doesn't mean that everyone can.

Right from the CDC:

Never run your car or truck inside a garage that is attached to a house even with the garage door open. Always open the door to a detached garage to let in fresh air when you run a car or truck inside.

Never use a generator inside your home, basement, or garage or less than 20 feet from any window, door, or vent.
Wish it was a dual fuel.

I want to use with natural gas. Does anyone know a good option? Looked at ebay and amazon. I saw some mixed feedback.

Probably will, I purchased a TackLife 2000 watt inverter generator for my Teardrop 5k btu Air conditioner. Anything smaller won't be ideal.

My fridge is rated at 115V-60Hz, 5.2A
Will this generator that produces up to 2250 surge watts and 1800 rated watts of power can power this fridge? I don't know how to evaluate.

Watts = Amps x Volts

W = 115 x 5.2

W = 600 watts

So only 600 watts to power it but I'm not familiar with refrigerators and how large their surges are.

Got mine yesterday. Today I unpacked it and started to do the break-in with new gas, added the proper oil and as I write this the thing is sputtering and surging really bad. Could be a bad plug? I wrote to Wen with a small clip of what it's doing and hope to hear back from them on Monday. Kinda sucks to be honest.

As if ANY of us should believe a single word the CDC says... but I agree completely use it outside

The Westinghouse generators don't have a fuel cut off switch. This is one thing that makes the WEN models stand out against their peers. With the fuel cut off swtich. you can burn out all the fuel in the carb as it shuts down and keeps the carb from getting gummed up with old fuel if the generators sits a while between uses (which generators are prone to do). I would not recommend getting a small "emergency" generator like this without a fuel cutoff switch. Without them, the maintenance is much higher.
Thanks! I've been looking at generators for WEEKS now. They've been selling out so I've already panic bought a few of them. SO many factors. Cut off switch, Harmonic noise, Inverter.

I already received this one [amazon.com].

Have this one ordered [amazon.com].

And I'm considering this one [amazon.com] over the one this thread is about.

I really only need to power fridge/freezer, some lights and fans. Yea central AC and all that would be nice, but I live in town, and I don't think that first one is going to be quiet enough to run all night.

Having to refill a small one constantly would be super annoying too.

Ultimately I want something to
  • run a few basic things
  • not damage my stuff (computers will be on UPS)
  • not be super loud
  • not need to be filled up in the middle of the night
  • not cost more than $600 max
I still don't even know if all the WEN have automatic shutoff, or if the full size (5000w), non-inverter models just run at full bore all the time? All this stuff is extremely unclear.

Sorry to hear. Did they reply to your email yet?

First time I started this one up it did sputter and was revving up and down for the first 5 minutes. Then it settled down and was fairly smooth.

I contacted them via email and they took about a week to get back to me to say…call customer service. I haven't yet. However, what I did after the first hour was I drained the gas and oil and started over. Second hour was a bit smoother and then I did the drains again. Third hour was noticeably much better and smoother when I added in some appliances to get it under load. Of course, now I'm in this weird dilemma to what to do next. I guess I'll wait to call them after I let it sit a bit and start it up in a few weeks and see how it behaves.
