Do not activate the code if you already have the game on origin, the software is not smart enough to tell you that you already have the game like steam and will eat up your code and give you a clone of the same game in the library. Yes, I have already tested this and got a clone of the same game in my origin library. Dont do what I did, just give your code to your friend if you already have the game. EA should be a shame of themselves for allowing people to activate game code for game they already own... If you wonder why I did that, I was trying to see if the code will give me something extra like DLC for the game or give me an error telling me I already owned the game like steam does and refuse to eat the code. Respond to comment below me, the campaign is still worth playing for people that never played it before.

I'm very confused. It keeps offering me Star Wars Battlefront II with the code that should have been for Battlefield 4 that Amazon gave me. I already own Battlefront II, I don't own Battlefield 4...

For the number of times Origin has done super stupid stuff like lock the game in an update loop or force a verify on 55GB of files or log out for no reason on a daily basis, i would NOT trust it to do anything besides fire off an .exe

No - multiplayer still going pretty strong. Has a large base of intensely loyal fans. Definitely the best of the Battlefield series.

Not true at all. Since BF1 and BFV suck to so many people, lots are still playing BF4. There are many full servers pretty much all the time in NA.
