Yea but it actually works out to be the same because you now have to connect your bank account so your payments will go directly to your bank instead of going through PayPal and getting charged processing fees.
Only for payments from those stupid enough to bypass the security of PayPal in paying the seller.

Over the past 20 years or so, PayPal has got my money back when eBay failed. One was for silver coins that were fake plated copper and because I notched the edge for proof, the coins were not returnable in resalable condition. PayPal immediately refunded.

The other side of this deal is that sellers can no longer pay monthly invoices with a cashback credit card.

eBay managed payments, coupled with next year's tax reforms, will squeeze small-time sellers off the platform.

Same. I've been waiting for a coupon, or at least 5% ebay Bucks deal to come along on my account to make a purchase, but nothing. However, my Amazon Assistant plug-in alerted me that Amazon is actually cheaper for this item, so I bought it from there. ebay has really sucked lately, at least for me.
eBay is riddled with fake junk, or resellers from other sites such as Amazon, Home Depot, etc. called arbitrage. I have had eBay items delivered by Amazon cheaper than I could buy on Amazon, so presume the eBay seller was also the same seller on Amazon.

I do agree that real deals on eBay are now few and far between and just not worth the hassle of the increasing 'not as advertised.'

The new eBay managed payment system results in higher fees for me. I used to pay around 13% with Paypal but now it's closer to 14-15% with eBay on most of the stuff I sell (mostly stuff under $30). It gets better at higher priced items (like $100+) but I don't see how they can say it saves anyone money...

When was the last time you changed your car's cabin or air filter? Might be a good purchase.

It was much more expensive to run classified ads in newspapers years ago and that was only local. You get top dollar on items on ebay you cannot sell locally.

You can once eBay is done.... In that case, next was PayPal and then the bank issuing the credit card.... if they don't drag out the time past 90 days for at least my cards. I have never had to go past PayPal.

Then again, we have been with eBay and PayPal since about 1999 and today have concierge service with eBay and a direct line to an account manager at PayPal. I never have to wait over about 20 seconds that is vastly different than say, with Comcast that I have to work up to calling for the 17th time for same billing issues over the past 5 months.
