Amazon "used" could mean it was dropped and damaged the box or the forklift ran into the pallet or a number of other warehouse accidents and it could still be brand new, especially if it says like new or very good.

I have one of these (or similar). I take the light off and mount my GoPro on it to take hiking for selfie videos or stand up shots, like walking away or towards. A lot lighter than a tripod.

It looks like the remote is for a phone to take selfies, I don't think it controls the light. Looks like it has controls on the wire for the light.
