That's been the price for more than a month. Same for the ER3 series for 69.99.
Ordered the ER4XR and just got it few days ago. If you're on the fence, just do it. Amazing headphones.
I've had the ER2XR for a while now and read posts saying the 4 isnt an upgrade from the 2, it's just different (since one is dynamic driver, one is BA). That's a lie. The 4XR is just a massive jump in clarify and detail all the way through. Separation is better and there's 0 noise or distortion whatsoever. I also find the bass on XR to be just right- good punch and good presence without taking away from the clarity of the rest of the presentation. Was on the fence since I have the XR version of 2 and thought it might be good to have the variety, but they still sound quite distinct and I'm glad I went with XR.
Had been going back and forth between the ER2XR (for fit) and Moondrop Starfield (for musicality) before but these I'm happy to just use exclusively.

Sorry for the big ugly link, my mobile browser doesn't let me lmake a hot link.
For gaming I am not sure what your needs would be, i have heard people who play shooters etc prefer 3d gaming headphones which lets them hear from which direction noises are coming etc for better performance. But if you want in-ear headphones, these are the best. But they are meant for listening to music i believe and for audiophiles... ER4 is certainly more worth it if you want to spend that much, but ER3 is really good too for almost half the price.

No worries. Yeah it'd be mostly a fps game but I have a over the ear headphones but don't want the dorky look since I already have a yeti mic. Was looking for a decent in ear ones. Would you recommend these over others in ear headphones for this price ?
Is is er3 or this deal better to grab? Gonna use it for gaming. Also where do you see the link for $69?
These will not be good for gaming. These are 2D sounding and it will not give you the 3D sound you're looking for. The use case for these earphones is listening to music and these are recommended if you want neutral headphones with no bass emphasis (SR model) or with very little bass emphasis (XR model). I would suggest searching for Crinacle's article on Etymotic to get a better idea.
Sound-wise these are really neutral. I enjoyed them for rock and techno. If you are a bass-head or used to beats, you will probably be disappointed.
I used to be pretty loyal to ER, but have moved on. They do not have a great build quality (the cord in particular) and I have had too many ear tips get stuck in my ear.

I use mine with memory foam tips, not the ones that come with these, but the regular ones like those from comfy, it's the same level sealing, but way more comfortable and no issues woth getting them stuck.
I dont need lots of bass but a 7.1 surround sounds would be good for footsteps lol 😆
Yeh not good for gaming. For 3D sound they need to have more space like over the ear to have sound come from dofferent direction, engineering that into the ear canal it's perhaps very difficult or impossible i imagine.
Hmmm... I see. What'd be a good in ear gaming headphones? I see streamers use in ears all the time but I don't know what they're using or if they are giving up the gaming sound quality of it 🤔
I bought ER4XR and returned it. The tuning for this IEM is very flat and neutral. I'm not a bass head person but found the bass is little lacking on this. I like to have more punches and sub rambles. Perhaps if you plug this one into an amplifier where you can adjust the EQ, the sound quality would be different. I agreed with other poster that the soundstage is 2D or narrow. The ear tips definitely something you need to get some adjustments. It feels like putting a cotton ball into your ear. You can change it to foam tips if you don't like it. For average person, I prefer moondrop aria or KZ ZAX.
