If I grew only basil in this how often do I need to add water? I'm sometimes gone for a week to 10 days. Would the tank run dry during this time?

it should be fine. Larger plants use more water, so if you notice that they need more frequent watering, just trim them back. I keep the cuttings in a glass of water and they continue to grow.

I have to add water to all of my Aerogardens once every 1-2 days. Will it go bone-dry in 1-2 days, no... but it definitely would within 7-10 days. We are talking about grown plants here, not seedlings. They do make a watering systems for Aerogardens that would cover your needs for 40 bucks.
