This Ryzen 7 5700U has been pushed so far due to bigger chassis and upgraded dual fan design and bigger heat pipe, it has actually beaten the conservative implementation of Ryzen 7 5800U in Zenbook 13 UM325 in Multi-threaded CineBench R23 and R20.

4k porn is a horrible idea... I was actually scared to see so much detail... (on a 65-inch 4k TV at 8 feet)
Does NOT come with a pen, but DOES work with a pen (used my spectre pen, no issues). I think they charge an extra 50-60 for a pen.
Also does NOT come with a sleeve, get the 14" sleeve from HP if you want one, the 15" is too big for it

The fan can be disabled/enabled in the bios which means it would only kick in after it gets hot. Due to this the bottom can get fairly warm before the fan decides to kick in. You can enable the fan in the bios and it will run at like 25% or something all the time which isn't too loud but it makes a huge difference in terms of keeping the bottom cool. There's no real way to configure the fan speed which is a shame.
The touchpad I got with mine seemed a bit shoddy. When you touch it it makes a noise almost as if the touchpad is loose. This is different from the click it makes when you actually push down to click it. It was very annoying because any slight touch would make a noise.
Be wary that if you decide you don't like the laptop HP will charge you a 15% restocking fee.
I returned mine and they didn't accept my touchpad clicky noise as a valid excuse so they're charging me the full 15%.
1. The touchpad spazzes out every once in a while and I have to click several times for it to go back to normal. Sent it in for repair within the first month, they sent it back but nothing was changed.
2. The wireless completely goes dead occasionally. It'll suddenly say "no connections available" even though it was connected 30 minutes prior. I have to do a hard reset (sometimes 2-3 times) before it'll magically find all the wireless connections in the area.
3. The rubber feet on the bottom are pretty useless and I don't think they elevate the bottom at all. Plus they started peeling off so I had to cut them. Also annoying that the rubber covers the screws to open the case (which I had to remove temporarily to add RAM).
Not sure if these issues have been addressed in the past year.

Probably will ask warranty for replacement later.
For this deal, I would get it if it was sold at Costco.

The screen orientation also will sometimes be wrong up on wake as well. Will need to manually rotate or reboot. The machine suits its purpose after upgrading to 64gb memory and the price is good, but I don't think I can live with it as a daily personal device as it is uncomfortable to use and buggy...
My ultra book plastic laptop cracks where the vents are.
