I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

If you signed up after 07/17, no $50 grocery credit for you.
If you signed up before 07/17 and qualified for the grocery credit, nothing extra you need to do in order to claim the credit. Just swipe your card at any grocery stores like supermarkets and the credit will automatically apply to your account. Walmart is YMMV, however. Walmart is Super Center and purchases from there should be coded as department store although some members reported their Walmart purchases were coded as groceries.
100K points are the bonus points for your signup of the card. In order to receive the bonus points, you have to meet the minimum spending threshold of $4K on purchases in first 90 days. Those purchases will earn you reward points as well. In general, one point is earned on each dollar of purchase. In some categories such as dining you earn double points on each dollar. So lets say you have just spent $2K on restaurants and $2K on something else, you will be getting 106K points at the end, 100K pts from sign-up bonus + 4K pts from dining + 2K pts on other regular purchases. If you redeem the points for the purchases in the past 90 days within the eligible categories (dining, home improvement, charity, grocery, Lyft, etc) via Chase Pay Yourself Back (PYB) option, the redemption value will be 25% more. It will potentially turn your 106K points to $1,325 statement credit.

I don't really know much about credit cards so my bad if this seems like a dumb question. But do you also get points from spending the $4000 separate from the 100k bonus? If so how much would the total savings in points be after spending the 4k?
I applied online & was approved (for the $95 annual fee account), before seeing this discussion thread. Have not yet received the plastic card via USPS. Is there any chance of getting a waiver on the first year's $95 annual fee, by presenting the newly issued plastic card at a Chase branch location?
Thanks.
There are anecdotal reports of people having success getting the $95 annual fee waived after the fact. However, based on the paucity of such reports, I'd guess that such likelihood is less that 1 in 100. If you have the time, you might give it a try. (Most people value their time & effort much more that $95 for a hundred trips to different banking officers, trying to find that one officer willing to waive the fee.)
There was another report from a member who went into a branch office, had difficulty with the application and the banker annotated the account so that the member could subsequently sign up online, and then called Customer Service to have the annual fee waived. However, I'm having difficulty locating that report.
So I applied online and got a letter in mail that I'm approved. However the letter says apply now for bonus 70K (or 80K) points, not 100K. Anyone know why?

Pretty sure you are correct. fwiw I applied for myself and the wife online because a branch isn't close by and quite frankly the hassle isn't worth it. I did contact a CSR for each card and ask for them to be waived but was turned down each time.

No. You will not succeed. If you did not apply at the branch, you have to pay that $95. Only one person has been able to get an agent to waive that fee.
BTW. When you get the physical card, you will see that its not "pastic". It is metal.
Customer service is not that great where when you apply thru bank they will waived the $95 and 50 grocery card. They won't match bank vs online still the same Bank

Thanks.
Here's the only one from a member who did nothing beforehand to secure the waiver:

EDIT: Found two such reports of accounts that were annotated. However, there was no follow-up confirmation about whether, in fact, the annual fees were waived.

By default points are worth 25% more via both PYB and the chase travel portal with this card.
They're worth 50% more with a CSR.
(that said, you can often get even more value than that out of the points transferring to travel partners)

If you have already applied for mortgage go for it.
