I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I downgraded my chase reserve card to chase freedom 7 days ago, today I used old reserve card and new freedom card, both transaction went through, but both transaction posted to the new freedom account. Can I apply the Sapphire Preferred card now or Should I still wait until old Reserve card not working anymore? Really appreciate your help.

1. You should contact Chase Customer Service (800) 493-3319 524-3880 to find out why you have been issued different credit card numbers.
For credit history reporting purposes, it's important that both cards come under the same account. They can have different numbers ... but it is unusual for Chase to change the numbers for a simple product change (downgrade).
2. Yes, you may apply for the new Chase Sapphire Preferred card now. It's ordinary for Chase to continue accepting charges under the old card for a period of time following product changes. If you waited until the old Reserve card stopped working, you might end up waiting (unnecessarily) several weeks.
7 days should be adequate time for your old card to have cleared Chase's system. If it has not cleared Chase's system, then the issue may be related to point number 1 (something unusual may have happened to your account).
EDIT: Corrected Customer Service phone number from CSP to CSF, since you downgraded to a Freedom card.

Thank you very much for your help. My old Sapphire Reserve account is still showed up in my online account but without Sapphire Reserve LOGO. It said "We've transferred your account details to your new credit card... This old account will show for 90 days". Anyone here had their old account still showed up in online bank? Does it means the old account is still not cleared in Chase system?
It is not necessary to have a same card number after a product change. For instance, card number will change when the downgrade is from a Visa card to a MasterCard or vice versa. It is because all Visa starts with "4" while all MasterCard starts with "5". If a CSR Visa is changed to a Freedom Flex MasterCard, the new card number must be different. Even if the new card number is changed, the account history can remain the same. It all depends on how Chase reports to the credit bureaus.

Thanks for the insight. In any case, the question still should be asked of Chase ... just to confirm that the account history remains the same.
I just applied at a branch and can confirm they waive the first annual fee of $95. My rep couldn't find the bit about the grocery credit, but it's still a great deal.
100K points are the bonus points for your signup of the card. In order to receive the bonus points, you have to meet the minimum spending threshold of $4K on purchases in first 90 days. Those purchases will earn you reward points as well. In general, one point is earned on each dollar of purchase. In some categories such as dining you earn double points on each dollar. So lets say you have just spent $2K on restaurants and $2K on something else, you will be getting 106K points at the end, 100K pts from sign-up bonus + 4K pts from dining + 2K pts on other regular purchases. If you redeem the points for the purchases in the past 90 days within the eligible categories (dining, home improvement, charity, grocery, Lyft, etc) via Chase Pay Yourself Back (PYB) option, the redemption value will be 25% more. It will potentially turn your 106K points to $1,325 statement credit.
2k on restaurants? Are you nuts? Why don't you just flush your money down the toilet.
Really only applies to credit card churners. If you apply for bonuses once in a blue moon, your risk is limited. Plus canceling makes your life cleaner and simpler with less junk to track and worry about.

Naah, applies to everyone.
In fact if you open FEW cards, it applies even more because things like reducing your total available credit or shortening your overall history hurts you worse if you don't have a ton of other cards.

I feel like you're leaving out a few steps between the money and what ends up in the toilet
The more I see you post on the forum, the more I think you are just simply a troll. You really got a problem if you don't see that's only an example of point calculation. Furthermore, spending $2K on restaurants in 3 months are not nuts. Some people don't cook at all and they need to buy takeout or dine out. So it's really less than $700 per month. When you are depending on your parents for living, not paying a dime for home improvement, and not ever owned a car and get your vehicle insured, don't criticize the others who are doing it, and don't call the others "nuts" for spending $700 on dining. Get a job, son! SMH
