I downgraded my reserve to just a sapphire two years ago. Can I upgrade to the preferred and get the bonus points?
I believe you should convert your regular sapphire to other non-sapphire cards and open a new sapphire preferred card to be qualified for the bonus.

I have owned CSR for almost 5yrs. I called Chase to do product change of my Chase Sapphire Reserve on Monday morning, and then went to the branch apply for Chase Sapphire Preferred on Friday of the same week - instantly approved.
One interesting in between, I got a promotion email from Chase about CSR on Wed. Also when I logged into my Chase app I was able to see both CSR and CSP are showing recommended from Chase app before I actually went to branch on Friday.
FYI I asked the lady at Chase bank about when the CSP 100k pts promotion in branch is going to end, she said it's unclear from Chase. It could be still here today but gone the next day.
Interesting...I downgraded on from a CSR on Wed 10/20 via phone to a Chase Freedom Unlimited.
The Freedom product change showed up on my online banking the next day.
I went to the brand on Fri 10/29 and the banker could not apply for the sapphire for me. The card was not available in the options. I asked if we can apply as a guest outside my profile and he said he wasn't allowed to. He called the manager who confirmed and didn't give him authorization.
Over the last week, I continue to receive Sapphire Reserve promo emails from Chase. Not sure how long I need to wait or try my luck to apply as a guest at another branch.
Lastly, I still haven't received my Freedom card so I never activated it. I'm not sure if that plays into the Chase system clearing the old Sapphire card from my profile since my old Sapphire card continues to work for charges.

I am not sure what the banker said "not available in the options" means "not available under your profile as pre-approved cards"?
If so, that happened to me too. But the chase lady was able to submit the application for me - she ended up typing every application information again. I am not sure if that is what you meant "as guest outside of your profile". But that's hot it went through.
Probably wait another couple of days and try another branch would work. Good luck ...

The sweet lady who helped me ALSO said the Chase Sapphire was "not available in the options" when she tried to apply for me. However, she called someone and verified that she had to create another profile and link it my original profile.
Went to a different branch and the guy was able to easily apply for me. I did notice all the 100k promo signs were off in the branch.
During the course of the application, he told me that corporate asked them to take off the signs so he anticipates the promo ending any day now but it's still available on the computer to apply.
I didn't get approved right away. He said he would call me tomorrow with an update. I'm assuming I might need to re-suffle credit lines as I have 90k between 2 accounts that are not in use.
I'm going to wait but based on what I've read, I assume I will have to talk to the reconsidering line - is that correct?
