Port to Google Voice (one time $20) & have the number forwarded to up to six phone numbers & unlimited devices with the app installed. Lets you take advantage of any provider deal regardless of existing customer status by just adding/changing forwarding to the new number the provider gives. Bunch of other features as well.
It is $14 a month without tax.

And what about 2 factor authentications and all that?
If your 2FA relies upon text messages, then you've already failed [cnet.com] in your security measures.
EDIT added link.
Lol. I did this for years. Used to get a free cricket phone every month as well.
Oh yeah?! How about your banks and credit card companies that only offer text-based 2FA? I'm really curious about what you use. Enlighten me.
I've never had that problem, so don't know what to tell you except to switch. If they don't know text messages are insecure [cnet.com], then they aren't taking security seriously enough.
If you care about 2FA, then here's some more interesting reading [techbeacon.com] on why you shouldn't use SMS. Click on the author's name when you're done as he's got at least a few more related articles he's posted recently.
