If it's the same model as at Costco, this is what's inside it

https://www.seagate.com/files/www...-en_US.pdf

It's a weird one. Empty transfer speeds of almost 300 MB/s up and down. 60% full speeds of 120 up and down, 80% full speeds of 230 up and down

I think it's shipped and sold by Newegg business on Amazon if I'm looking at it correctly.

These aren't even worth it at all for that purpose.

Why not? What are? I'm looking for a 12-16 TB internal.

Now, Newegg added a free 240gb SATA ssd included in the deal. I'd rather see a price discount instead of a free 240gb, but not too bad.

I think so. I shucked the 16TB version but it was difficult to pry open without breaking the clips. You can easily sell the enclosure on eBay too.

I would buy mine from newegg all things being equal. Once Newegg is gone what do we have left? Microcenter doesn't ship. CDW and PCM are never a slick deal.

I bought some from aaawave last week or so and shucked those. They all had the Exos 2x14 Mach.2 inside. Lucky haul. Already put them all through the long self test in Seatools and all are good. Placed one inside an older dell xps 8930 with an i7-9700 and it's recognized just fine without having to use kapton tape or sata power splitter. Gravy on top, aaawave didn't charge taxes, at least not for me. The only thing is, you can only purchase 1 unit at a time so that makes for a long process if you want multiple.

Yes. I have done several of these when upsizing HDD's in my drive caddies. I usually use the plastic wedge tools for separating phones to replace the screens, I've got a bunch of them and it makes it easier to do without breaking the tabs.

It's back to $209.99 base price, but has their 'Group Buy' deal where if enough people order one, it drops back to the $190 sale price.
