This cuda core count issue is going to be fixed with a bios update. Dell announced it will come in June.
This so true but I've always hated 17'' because of portability
I tried carrying around a 17" laptop for a month before I returned it. Functionally, the computer itself was awesome, but at the time, I moved around a lot. In addition the size and weight, the 17" version typically also has a bigger and heavier power brick. If you do any sort of traveling, forget about it. The little tray table won't hold a 17" laptop comfortably. On trains, I had to sit in group seating where there is a bigger table in the center. The 17" would basically take half the table, so the person sitting across from you basically won't have any space. On economy planes, it barely fits a 13" assuming the person in front doesn't push back their seats.
15" doesn't sound much smaller...but its a drastic difference. When something doesn't fit, there simply isn't anything you can do, and that is going to happen far more frequently with the 17".
It also makes your bag bulkier and more awkward, which is noticeable during commutes.
After my experience, I would probably never consider the 17" unless it was notably cheaper than the 15", and even then - probably not. 15" is probably the sweet spot for performance and 'portability'.
I've always felt this way about 15" vs 17". I never understood the purpose of a 17". At that point get a desktop. I live in a state where several relatives live in cities 3-4 hours away. When I visit on weekends I take my laptop because they go to sleep at 8pm which means I have 3 hours to kill before bed. I had a 17" a while back and it was hell lugging that thing around. Not to mention fitting it in desks and in bags. It felt like my life was lugging that thing around.
That guy probably did not even check the actual issue and was trying to post something intelligent here.

It is a powerful system. My issue is the battery life with the 300hz monitor and without Optimus. Gaming laptop do have short battery life but, in 2021 make sure it gets at least 5 hours or more per charge. If not then get a desktop.
Why would gamers need portability? They just shut in their room all day! LOL.
