All 30 series graphic models are 2021 but this is not the latest revision. The latest revision is R5 (AMD) and R6 (Intel 11th Gen). Although, the latest revision has a gimped 3070 version so be wary of that.
Received a 15% off coupon code in the June 2021 physical mailer and was able to apply it successfully to sweeten the deal further instead of the 12% coupon.
$1,549.37 before tax for the 256/32/3070 config in Lunar Light.
I see so many more 15" deals, so I am genuinely curious as to why. Is it just the portability factor?
I'm personally holding out for a 17''. I don't understand people who like their UHD 4k 6000Hz 5 billion polygon raytraced graphics on a tiny screen but there must be a ton of them since we've got 15'' 30 series laptops coming out of every orifice but nary a 17'' in sight.
The new 17 inches are extremely portable. Like around 5lb or less. I don't see how you'd have an issue with this unless you're Mr. Burns.
There's a lot more to portability than just weight. There's a reason why laptop makers run the gamut from ultra portables to desktop replacement, 17" notebook and everything in between. One of last years best sellers was the Asus G14 and it's sole selling point was packing as much power into a 14" frame. I have one of those and a current Asus Zephyrus G15 and a an M17 R4, The difference in weight between each is a only a tad more than a pound from the G14 to G15 and another pound roughly on top of the G15 when going to the M17. Doesn't sound like much but the sheer footprint makes their design for completely different use cases. Each step up in size isn't remotely comparable to the one before.
People who are looking at an M15 are more than likely happy with that size. This sort of thing happens all the time on SD. Someone posts a deal on a 13" XPS 13 for example and without FAIL you'll have someone chime in "b-b-but it doesn't have discrete graphics....why does it cost that much? Just buy this 15" low end laptop". So on and so forth. It's astonishing.

I can understand wanting a smaller form factor but what is the everyday common use case for these 3k balls to the wall systems with top of the line everything except gpu? Its not opposition to the small form factor its just that there are cheap ultraportables that can do the same thing, unless you are talking about an M1 system.
Ended up placing two orders on 6/4/21 one using 12% and one using 15% coupons because they would not do a price adjustment. Pretty fast...They are shipped already and will receiving them day after tomorrow. Have to return one now...hope the return process is not hectic.
Alienware m15 R4 Gaming Laptop, 15.6" 144Hz FHD with Gsync, RTX 3080, i7-10870h, 32gb RAM, 512gb SSD ($1993 first order and $1924 second order)...

It gave a date of 6/28 for me initially but yesterday night it was shipped and in transit. Expected delivery Wednesday morning 6/9.
