at&t prepaid customer service is almost non-existent. The at&t store will not be able to help with majority of prepaid customer issues. The at&t store is there for postpaid customers. Expect long wait when calling prepaid hotline and unhelpful phone rep - they don't do call you back when it's busy instead they keep you on hold so you'll get annoyed and give up. Keep an eye on your bill - at&t is notorious for billing errors, most of the time in their favor.

Cricket is now implementing whitelist for VoLTE devices. Though AT&T is doing this across their brands thought cricket is being a dick compared to the rest of AT&T. Cricket has been immediately suspending accounts if they are using an unapproved device. The whitelist is because of the planned 3G shutdown next year

I got snagged by Cricket for non-whitelist on a new unlocked Samsung A32 5G (this device is ON the AT&T whitelist) . No harm done but plenty of white knuckling until fixed. Sad part is that it automatically suspends your phone line and a long call is needed to go back to an approved device and get un-suspended. I had to do it twice b/c first agent 23minute call, helpful but forgot to reset imei of good phone, so the next day, I was suspended again even after using only the approved device since the reset. Another 25+ minute call to get that resolved. No empathy or apology from them, as their robot-status and training does not allow for that.

Wouldn't it just be easier to send a message rather than a suspension? I have a grandfathered account and was terrified this would ruin it, but didn't , showing I worry too much but with Cricket, isn't there cause for worry by their history?

Don't think for a second the whole situation doesn't piss me off.

Yes it would be easier or just pay for a system to detect an unknown IMEI and then schedule a call in for the customer to add it to the whitelist if the device is compatible.

Can I put the SIM in my AT&T wireless modem? I pay $60/month for unlimited phone and 50GB of data a month but always bumping the 50GB limit and have had to really limit Netflix to prevent overages.

why not get redpocket since this throttles after 22GB anyways? RP is $30/mo for 20GB and it doesn't require autopay (one time for $360 for 12 months). RP is on AT&T network. Had really good reception with another subsidiary (Unreal) for a hardly used phone. Plus, you get unlimited international calls to about 80 countries. Which is nice if you have family who is overseas (military or otherwise).

Taxes on the original $75 cost, or the $50? Wouldn't be surprised if it were the former & they pocketed the difference when reporting to the feds (no, I'm not cynical at all).

Great deal for good unlimited no contract prepaid wireless service. Must sign up online and buy a sim. You can port in non-ATT line or get a new number. Existing customer will have to port out first to keep same number.

Data is deprioritized after 22GB, not throttled. Speeds will still be good as long as the network isn't overloaded, and AT&T is usually really good with network management.

EDIT: I've been told the plan I'm on is no longer available.

I'm on the $40 per month att prepaid walmart deal. 25 gigs a month, 8 gig rollover, and all of it can be used for hotspot. We have 2 phones for $70 (multiline discount) total per month. If you can really use more than 25 gigs on a cellphone, I'd be amazed.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NoContra..._plan_via/ Esim not necessary. Don't know if it has 5g because my phone is not 5g.

I think At&t would detect that its not a phone and deactivate your account.

Just buy At&t refill cards from target when they run promos on them. No taxes and you get 5% off with red credit or debit card + whatever percentage off the promo they are running. Kroger often runs promos too on their website.
