I swear these are $699 every few months. Makes me think the MSRP is just for FOMO.

And for those that can't replicate a theater in their home, these 280fa provide a quality entry into that experience. For the price and quality, it's hard to beat this(frequently posted) SD. Just trying to provide some useful detail for those looking for some insight.

Bought these and the 440c center last time they were on sale. Extremely happy with them coming from my Andrew Jones pioneers (which are great for the price)

Before buying the Klipsch set, I did some research and found a lot of people saying they were bright and fatiguing on the ears. This was absolutely true until I re-ran audyssey. That toned down the highs a lot.

I just bought a pair of the RP-8000F for $800 in the deal a few days ago. Should I return them and get a pair of these for $699 instead? Seems like these are exactly the same, but with bonus up firing speakers.
I purchased 2 pairs last year replacing my existing mains/surrounds/up firing module and these are so much better. I also tried the 500SA and the module in the 280fa sounds better. The modules in the 280fa has a 6.5" driver that can really push object based surround off my 8' ceilings(which is key). I do turn up the gain +1 on my modules from what I get from calibration. I also like the look of appearing to have only 9 speakers instead of actually having 13 total (counting center and 2 subs).

How do you use shoprunner at Adorama?
Looks like Adorama is no longer partnering, since FEDEX acquired ShopRunner.

Can someone recommend the in wall klipsch to go with RP 8000F or these speakers? I have RP 440C as my center. if i use Polk Audio RC85i 2-way Premium In-Wall 8" Speakers for rear would it sound mismatch? I know people say not to mix n match. If some other klipsch which are on wall but not going to occupy big space on wall is ok. I think the book shelf speakers might be too big.

TIA

Does anyone know how these compare to Polk Monitor 70s Series 1? Wondering if it's worth the upgrade.

Any recommendations for a good pair for surround, center channel, and sub that will go with these?

Thanks!
i would be surprised if there was a noticeable difference, other than the upfiring feature

Well Kevin usually it's good practice to "match" your speakers(not necessary with the sub).
With that said people "mix n match" all the time and they believe it works for them.
The key(and great) thing about sound, it's completely subjective.

Since you already have the 440C and Polk's I would suggest giving these a shot, better to "match" your center rather than your surrounds.

If it all sounds good to you, you just saved yourself good amount of money and hassle.

I too am wondering if this is an actual upgrade from my LSIM703s for primary music and TV watching, or would this be a down/sidegrade for music listening.
if you have a sub, probably not much difference. if you don't have a sub, these will have the bass you're missing (but not all of it).

I went ahead and bought the pair even though I don't like the Cherry.... Maybe I can paint them black. Any suggestions on a deal with a denon receiver? I'm going to purchase the 450c center from Klipsch... And will utilize the Dolby Atmos and eventually buy a subwoofer. If I have the money down the road my house is pre-wired in the ceiling for some down firing speakers and although that would be great for Atmos I rather use those as my rears. I believe I only need a 5.x setup and not 7.x. I prefer not to spend more than $400 on a receiver. not sure on power requirements... wattage, etc (home theater noob here)
I have a 7.2.4 in-ceiling atmos setup. In the movies I watch, I think there is more soundtrack activity from the rear surrounds than the heights.

So after a few years of listening, I personally would recommend rears before atmos.

Having said that, I absolutely love my setup, and wish there was more height action in movies so they would make use of my speakers.

What if any is the difference between the RP-280F and the RP-280FA ?
I know the FA has the atmos on top but is there anything else ?
Looking at the specs they look exactly the same unless I'm missing something.

Thanks for any insight.

Yes, only difference is the A which is Atmos modules, and minor cabinet differences so that the Atmos module fits in roughly the same size cabinet.

Thank you for the quick reply.

What is a good center to match up with them ?

I was considering this RP-450C :

That is decent, but I believe most audio folks prefer the 600c due to the larger woofers. Better LCR timbre matching for those that can hear it.
