if only i could (MSRP). i've been trying on newegg shuffle and following twitter accounts. i have evga elite membership. i've been on many waitlist. nothing. i have an old 1070ti i can use in the mean time. this will be for a linux set up anyway, no gaming. my current rig is the ryzen 3900x with 2070 super. i good with that, for now.

ram is slowly going up in price too

AMD already announced 3d v-cache CPUs

Meh. I'm not convinced it will be all that worthwhile for most people. 16 cores is already completely nuts and barely has any reason to exist even for high end desktop market. It's really a workstation CPU on a consumer socket.

AMD pretty much knows they are the market leader so even if they release a 5950XT variant I'm sure will will cost quite a bit more I'd guess $1000+. And will mostly serve to be a halo product while normal people buy the $200-350 CPU's.

Cool. In 6 months Intel is getting a new CPU with DDR5 and AMD is in Q1 2022. This CPU is already out dated lol.
Thanks for posting. We all enjoy a good thread crap from always negative people like you.

Waiting for 5900x
Do you live near a microcenter? I bought a 5900 back in April and I have noticed they regularly have both 5900's and 5950's in stock, I checked online today and they have over 25+ 5900's in stock in the mcirocenter closest to me.

I actually pulled the trigger since we have time to cancel.

Can anyone suggest a decent mobo and RAM (32Gb or more) for this CPU?

Loving all the comments like "lol a new CPU is coming next year that's way better." No kidding? That's how CPUs have worked for thirty years. AMD is firing on all cylinders and so the perf jumps are impressive, but Weird Al's "It's All About The Pentiums" more or less applies here.

This is essentially the best CPU you can buy today. If you need a computer today and not in 2022, then this is the top. If you don't need a computer today, obviously things are only getting better. (Well, maybe not on the Intel side of the fence.)

Its good news. With the stock in at microcenter as well at msrp for the 5600x is it possible that AMD has fixed its supply woes? I hope so......
