No box! No receipt! Yeah, right. I call BS.
Nope. I asked. No box. No receipt. Only store credit. Returned the miter saw and got the sliding one instead.

Was it part of a combo kit? Probably not.

How hot is this deal?
More or less starting out from scratch. Just need tools for the house/garage. No real projects in mind. Plus a family member is in construction and is nearby so for the heavy duty stuff I always have access to pretty much any tools I need.
Should I get this or wait for a brushless deal? Like I said this is mostly for casual use only…do I even need brushless in that case?

I am in the same boat. Debating to get this or the brushless. Mostly home diy projects but still needing some power.

It's a great starter set and since you're saying it's for casual use, the brushless deal is probably overkill. The brushless are excellent tools for the price point but for casual use, save the money and go with this kit. You won't be disappointed!

I still have a "blue" kit with a big box. Drill on that I did burn out once but pushed it's limits. I had another "yellow" drill/driver that I've been using since.

For a regular homeowner, Ryobi is a great system. Brushless maybe overkill.

I am looking for new drill and driver. I just do home stuff. I don't need the saw.
How does this compare to this deal! What I really want is something light weight.

Why does everyone have a hard on for brushless? I've got many of these brushed ryobi tools and have never had an issue around the house.
Started with a 6 piece combo set when I bought my house and have been adding ever since. Recip saw by far the most used after a drill of course.
I use 2ah batteries for any random jobs and 4ah when I'm working on actual projects.

Recip saw good for pruning branches on small trees and bushes?

For all the smaller stuff I use a bypass lopper but for bigger branches and logs and roots and whatever else I've used the recip saw. The saw wouldn't work well for pruning small stuff unless it's fairly ridgid. Like a small branch that moves all around wouldn't work. The object has to be fairly stable.
