Good price but…don't do it if it doesn't have the full manuf warranty (5 years). Reliability on these is awful. I've had one Ryobi fail three times after 1.5 years. Bought this exact model as replacement and it was bad out of the box. Factory authorized repair shop told me he can't keep up with failed Ryobi electric mowers.

Yeah, I generally avoid the reconditioned Ryobi items. Maybe fine sometimes, but that shorter warranty is a show stopper for me.
Factory blemished, on the other hand, has full warranty.

same here. I was hesitant since I had heard that reconditioned is a crapshoot - but decided to give it a try after reading comments here. Lets hope it works out.

What were the failures? Might be a few common issues with bad manufacturing or design that keep failing. Any YouTube videos on how to better fix those problems?

I've had one of these for about a year. It's a decent mower but the build quality is not very good. It's very light and mostly plastic. Greenworks and other brands have much better build quality and offer a steel deck. If I had to do it over, I would get a different brand.

Electric mowers only work, in my mind, if you have less than a quarter acre and never let your grass grow more than a few inches. I started with electric, got sick of it, and switched to gas. Not happy about the environmental aspect of the switch, but mowing has changed from a multi-hour frustration to a quick and enjoyable experience.
80v electric mower easily handles 1/2 acre or more. It could do an acre with two high capacity batteries. Voltage is key to power and longevity.

That's the most helpful response. Electric isn't automatically as bad as I presented it, but many people unknowingly buy something underpowered for their purpose.

Was also about to pickup the 40V attachment capable trimmer with the mower but it's tool only. For the same price (when in stock) you can get the kit (Tool, battery and charger)

I notice it doesn't actually say the size of the battery. Trimmers usually come with 4ah but since they're hiding it I'm guessing it's gonna be a 2.5

This model new comes with a 6 AH battery. Don't know what refurb comes with however.

I wasn't even aware Ego made gas mowers. It would be an apples to oranges comparison anyway; gas vs. cordless electric. However, agree Ego is much higher quality. I think they're kinda considered the Tesla of cordless electric mowers.
I don't think they meant that Ego gas mowers exist. I think it was a typo. I believe they meant to say "Ego has much higher build quality/materials."

I've got a large bermuda grass lot that I mow with the prior Ryobi 20" brushless mower. It's fine. The build quality isn't great, but Ryobi stuff is so inexpensive that it doesn't matter. The 4ah batteries last me around 35 minutes in the mower and can be found new on ebay for $60 bucks if you watch for them. The mower (no charger or battery) goes for around $100 bucks used in my locale. If you get the rapid charger (OP406A - $50 bucks on Ebay), you can charge a 4ah battery in around 40 minutes. I've got three 4ah batteries and can mow pretty much indefinitely by cycling batteries in the charger. I've had the mower for three years now, and it's still fine. The overall experience is so much better than gas that I wouldn't go back.

Damn, missed out on this one, won't let me add it to the cart for an online order... I've been waiting for a good deal on one of these mowers too!

EDIT: Based on advice in this thread, I kept checking the page, and I was able to order one around 7:30am PST on Monday. Now I'm just hoping it doesn't get cancelled as a mistake!

Yep that's what I meant to say. Auto-correct strikes again.

Never tried the high-lift blade but the default one doesn't bag leaves in the fall very effectively.
