Bought this exact set a year or so ago on clearance. I bought two of them so that wife and I could take our two kids and try out camping and this kit is great for testing if you like camping. camping can be a bit overwhelming to get started and this gets you a great base to not break the bank if you want to go spend a weekend camping. Sure it won't survive a monsoon, but it has been fine in showers. The sleeping bags are plastic-y, but are fine. They would be the first thing i'd suggest replacing. We used this kit, found out we love camping and have since upgraded everything. People will tell you how to spend buckets of money on the best gear, but for family camping trips, coleman and walmart crap is fine (and some really good).

If you want to go camping, don't get this set. If you want to camp out in the back yard, this set will be fine. Warning: A 4 person tent is only big enough for 4 sleeping bags, not gear.

Bought this exact set a year or so ago on clearance. I bought two of them so that wife and I could take our two kids and try out camping and this kit is great for testing if you like camping. camping can be a bit overwhelming to get started and this gets you a great base to not break the bank if you want to go spend a weekend camping. Sure it won't survive a monsoon, but it has been fine in showers. The sleeping bags are plastic-y, but are fine. They would be the first thing i'd suggest replacing. We used this kit, found out we love camping and have since upgraded everything. People will tell you how to spend buckets of money on the best gear, but for family camping trips, coleman and walmart crap is fine (and some really good).

It might be fine in a short sprinkle, but there are lots of youtube video reviews showing what a couple hours of moderate rain will do. It turns into a bathtub.

Now that's fine if it's being used by adults in warm weather or close to civilization. But don't rely on the tent to provide any real shelter in circumstances where not being able to stay dry can be very uncomfortable or dangerous.

Got this on clearance for $25 last year. Worth $25 for the kids to play with or to dip your toe in to camping but not much more than that.

I would probably bet this set is for a family wanting to go camping for the 1st time, somewhere close, with showers, bathrooms, etc. So "camping" bc you sleep in a tent. (Your not going to backpack/hike with this stuff.)

I got this for $25 last summer, would say worth that price. Seems designed for a single use camp experience. Almost impossible to get everything back in the storage bag once used.
