He's saying they charge $100 for 8gb of ram, you can buy 8gb of ram for $22 less than they charge….
The 5600G is a good gaming CPU. It trades blows with the i5 11400, for reference. It is a little more power efficient than current Intel CPUs.

The iGPU in this is vastly superior to any iGPU from Intel currently available, but that doesn't make much difference if you're making use of the 3060. If you pull the 3060 for another computer, the 5600G leaves you with a little PC that can still actually game at 1080p. Current AMD integrated graphics are impressive.
Wow, kind of stupid to expect that. Even the 3080 is far from perfect with 4k RT. 3060 is for people who want to maximize 1080p with ray tracing and dlss. Well not even, bc the 3060 ti is the one for that

Are these GPUs the same no-label trash as the 1660 Super in the Dell G5 that Gamer's Nexus destroyed in their review? I wouldn't think they could be that bad, but….
I have the HP 3060 ti and the 3080. The 3060 ti is 2 fan, cool and perfect. The 3080 I just popped it open, the thermal pads are actually good quality so I just repasted. The 3080 is run of the mill with 3 fans. Both are of good quality on par with Alienware cards(which I have 3080 also). Not sure about the 3060 but I'm sure it would be a dual fan design like the 3060 ti. Decent looking cards no RGB and perform well.

I bought last weeks deal with the 5700g & 3060. I dropped it into my dual 3060 rig out of curiosity. It didn't like to play nice with my other Evga 3060 but on its own did 47.xx with the development driver.
Power usage? Seems not great considering 1660s will do 30MH@70 watts

That would be true if this motherboard allowed you to use the integrated graphics; it does not.
Take the little plastic covers off and it does. I used it on the last one with the same motherboard. Worked perfectly.

The 3060 is a single fan, and it works great.

I don't think you can put just any DDR4-3200 ram into HPs and get 3200.
You can if its the same size and speed of ram and use Ryzen Master software. I own an HP Omen 30L with Ryzen5 3600 and a single 8gb stick initially. When adding another stick that was identical in brand/model/speed/size/etc to make it 16gb dual channel, the HP BIOS would limit the speed of both to like 2300MHz or something. Downloading and using Ryzen Master software you can bring the speeds back up permanently to 3200MHz. You only have to make the change once and the change will stick.

Just be extra careful to lookup a tutorial to know what to change as changing a value to a wrong number or touching other unrelated settings when you shouldn't can damage your hardware

just be warned if you go with the 8gb config search for a matching stick on ebay as these cheap prebuilts its pretty common for them not to have any xmp settings in the bio so the only way you get faster ram is if you use the oem ones that the bios will run at 3200.

if you do use ryzen master to force xmp make sure that the timings of the sticks match as very likely the hp included one will be 3200 with very high timings and forcing it to run lower can lead to instability

Curious what people think about $3025 for this spec? Haven't shopped 3090's so not sure what price I should be aiming for:

OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0380t

Intel® Core™ i7-10700K W/Liquid Cooling(3.8 GHz up to 5.1 GHz, 16 MB L3 cache, 8 cores)

HyperX® 16 GB DDR4-3200 XMP SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)

WD Black 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD

NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3090 (24 GB GDDR6X dedicated)

Front Bezel Shadow Black Glass, Dark Chrome Logo Side Cover Glass with Cooler Master AMP 750 W Platinum efficiency power supply

Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX 201 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5 combo

If you live near a Microcenter you can find these open box with 32GB, 1TB ssd and 10870h cpu for around 2700.

I've only ever used Intel processors. I know how to company benchmarks, but any thoughts on using AMD v intel, for mostly gaming?
the amd is more than sufficient for gaming. i've used both brands for 25+ years. with the exception of the "slot a" (aka slot athlon) amd, i'd highly recommend either depending on which product best falls into the need.

Bought the 5700g version on memorial day sale, but I can't get the Linux drivers to work for the Ryzen APU. Might return it

$140 extra for 16gb and 512gb SSD? You can buy 8gb stick of 3200mhz for $40 and buy bigger 1TB SSD for $90

With code 5GAMER2021 its $968.99 then upgrade it yourself with 1TB SSD and extra 8gb stick.

do you have to enable something in the motherboard to get VGA port to work?

I'm out of the computer tech in a a while so i don't know all the tricks these days. I have this machine (see link below) with the GTX 1650 Super. I need to enable the VGA to hook up the 4th monitor if it's possible. Thank you for your feedback.

Should be at least getting i9 with 3090 for $3025.

Same HP omen with i7 10700k/3090 was $2660 in April.
