Way better off waiting for the Klipsch 12 inch sub to go on sale at Costco for $160.00. Extra 20 bucks is well worth it seeing as you may have the same sub for 15+ years.

I would say it depends on your taste and what you're trying to accomplish. I've had both and heres my experience- 10" is tight, crisp bass and is plenty loud for any average sized room. 12" is way more boomy and more of a thunder rumble than tight bass and will fill up a room and more. I currently have the 12" and when I'm listening to music I almost always have to lower my sub volume because it overpowers my speakers. BTW, my fronts are RF82iis.

Yeah, I'm sitting with one Klipsch R-112SW and I'll probably go with a 15" SVS or HSU as an upgrade within the next couple of years. Any big opinions on those two brands?

Klipsch MSRP are always weird - almost always at 50% off. I'm guessing since the r-12sw was replaced with the r-120sw, the msrp might have changed.

HSU better sound quality. SVS better support and little technology upgrades. SVS is more $$ though too.

Hard to describe it, tighter is more of a "punch" bass while loose is more of a wobbly bass. Doesn't help any more with using those terms. If you don't know the difference, it probably won't matter to you.

Svs will fix your sub woofer 5 years after
warranty. They are a great company!!! They make the best subwoofers that go below 20 hz other subwoofer break at that frequency.

I will say, I bought the 12" to replace the 10" I had because the amp went bad. The sound is definitely not as crisp and I'm very tempted to go back to this 10" one. Don't get me wrong, the 12 booms and rattles the windows, but so did the 10 and it's much sharper.
