But, if I were married to a jealous, possessive woman that does not give massages, let alone know the variants, I get it.... buy the chair.
HI. thanks for this great info. I have been researching and there's really nothing out there which points out these things you discuss unless I am just bad at googling.
With that said, can I ask where you go to read about this type of info? Also, how's Kyoto's chairs at Costco?

According to the sales rep from Osaki, the Maestro has been discontinued and replaced by the Maestro LE. Whatever available in the market are old stocks. Costco has purchased a bunch of the original Maestro and they are shipped from Costco. The new Maestro LE is only $500 more in list price, so most people would go for the LE anyway.
Some of the complaints about the old Maestro are the poor remote control navigation, short retractable cord for the remote, noisy motor, and some quality issue in manufacturing. It was a very popular model 3 years ago as it was one of the first "4D" massage chair. The new Osaki Ekon+ is a recently upgraded model of Ekon (similar case as the Maestro LE from Maestro) which is made by another OEM that has a better reputation. It is almost identical to the Takasima (a Taiwanese brand) model A-9201. I have tried it at the road show and it is very quiet.
Most apps for massage chairs are poorly written. They are just available for marketing purpose. You will find them to have very low rating on app stores and the websites or product manuals rarely give any information about their apps. The same is true for the voice control on some models. It is available but not very functional.

I got Kyoto Raizen M680 from Costco about 1 week ago. The rollers are super strong (hurts me even at 3D level 0). The remote really suck. The foot roller thing does not do my arches. But it was only $3K after rebate.
I went to an infinity Road show yesterday and they wanted $6700 for the evolution chair. It was a nice chair but I can't justify the price difference between evolution and the Kyoto Kaisen M680.
Came home and research and found that the evolution is basically an Kyoto M898 (less a couple of features).
The Ekon Plus IOS app looks exactly like the Infinity Evolution App so maybe they are the same chairs...
I just ordered the Pro Maestro (set delivery to 7/13) just in case they sell out.
I might drive 1.5 hours to see an Osaki road show next week just to be sure.

The Ekon+ is quite different from the M898 in many aspects. The foot massager design and the number of airbags are different. They are all in the same list price range though.

I haven't sat in any Kyota chairs, but the other SDer is right that it looks almost identical to the Infinity Dynasty.
Based on available features, I believe the M898 is on par with the Ekon+ that was at the Osaki roadshow, so at $4.3k it's almost the same price as the Osaki Encore that is available through the roadshow at $4k.

Kyota M888 (fairly close clone of Infinity Overture) is down to $3600 at Costco ($6500 less $2900 promotion). I am about 100% that this is the lowest price ever for this chair so strongly worth exploring and considering more. I do wonder if the drastic $2900 discount is suggestive of Costco phasing this out so you might want to move fast if this fits your needs.
Was able to try the Maestro at a local place, and did enjoy the air bags and how quickly they fill up compared to lower models.
The calf air bag side to side action is nice.
But it makes it so hard with so many different models of chairs that differ just slightly.
Also all the bad reviews make it harder to pinpoint exactly which one to get.
I like the Kyota M898 features but haven't tried it.
Just wondering if anyhow has been able to compare the two and have any inputs?
TIA!
Should I wait for a roadshow near me to get a good deal?
